Platinum Resistant Women, Anyone on Doxil and a parp inhibitor?
My CA-125 started rising as soon as chemo ended with a good CA and cat scan. My CA has since gone up several times and the doctor wants to put me on a clinical trial of veliparib and Doxil. I would like to know which drugs the women who were declared platinum resistant wound up taking and how are you doing? Do you take chemo breaks in between, just would like to know your regimen. Thanks!

PARP
I recurred 7 months after frontline so they say if you recur 6 months or less you are platinum resistant. However, I did start a PARP trial(olaparib) as a single agent and that gave me 11 months progression free with the lowest ca125 ever (13). hope this helps alittle.
best of luck to you!!

Thanks for the reply...wondering why you were taken off the trial. I looked at your profile and it said your CA went back up to 300. Was that why you were taken off...not sure of the dequence. What did you go on after that and how are you doing now?

I was taken off trial bc lymph nodes started to grow. I'm now currently trying to get into another trial(pdl-1). I've been off PARP trial since end of March. Not on anything now. Have appt monday to try to get into this other trial. I feel fine. Ct scan showed new liver lesion (1.4 cm) and lymph nodes increasing in size.
And yes I could have went back on chemo prolly Doxil but I simply don't want to. I wil if I have to, though. Onc thinks it's ok to wait to get into another trial. I did almost the same thing last time and things didn't get out of hand. So I'm willing to take my chanceS again. I mean, what do i have to lose? I can always go back on chemo.
best to you! Let us know what you decide.

PD-1 is very promising for many kinds of Cancer, including OVCA. I think that are open trial spots in Los Angeles... do not know where you are...
Good Luck..!!
