First scan after RADs

edited June 2014 in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Gabe had his first scan post treatment on Friday. That was one of the longest weekends off my life waiting for those results! The Dr found some lumps on his opposite jawline from where the cancer was originally found so we decided to have the scans done a few weeks early. We are scheduled to head back to Houston the third week of June, but didn't feel comfortable waiting that long to figure out what the lumps were.

The Dr called yesterday with the news....NED!!! So relieved at the news! I cried when I told Gabe. He looked so confused. He said "but mom, we already knew God healed me." Ahh, to have the faith of a 10 year old! Scanxiety had me paralyzed all weekend long. I guess I need to brush up on my childlike faith :-)

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. So very happy to be able to share this news with you all! Hope everyone is doing well! We are in the middle of travel baseball and soccer for Gabe, and travel soccer for the girls, and then there is that pesky school day that keeps us hoping! Not much time for the internet, but I think of you all often and pray that you are all keeping up the good fight!

Kim

    Hi Kim

As a minister myself I must agree with Gabe, faith has a lot to do with it. Positive thinking and belief that keeps one focused on healing is better than any medicine. As the Man once said we need to have child like faith and my good friend Kent always said Believe.
