in Kidney Cancer #1

The waiting begins again. Had CT scan today to check status of current mets. I am hoping for at least stable with nothing new in the mix. I will know results Tuesday. Just hoping this once that I get a good report. If the report is not good not sure what happens next as far as treatment options go.

    Same day results

    Good luck on the results.  The last couple of scans (post IL-2) that I've gotten have been scheduled in the a.m. with an oncologist visit and his informal read of the scans later in the day.  Far cry from my very first post-op scan in January where I waited 18 days to find out I had lung mets.

    Hi Sue, 

    The waiting is hard, paradoxically you are impatient for news; but so fearful of it's arrival. I understand how you feel, I have mine in a couple of weeks. I will be praying deeply for good results on Tuesday, it's time!

    PS Djinnie I hope you get to go to Lake Como, sounds devine.

    Hi all

    scans last week again showed some minor growth in all lesions that are measured except one in the spleen which remains stable. Plan to continue Afinitor for time being but do have a referral to another onc at a different hospital to find a little more about a phase 1 trial I may be a candidate for. Onc is cannot say if the afinitor is helping to slow growth of the lesions.

    So there it is! Reasonably good I guess at least nothing new although there is possibly an enlarged lymph node in supraclavicular region which will be checked next CT which will include neck as well as chest abdo and pelvis.

    Sounds good.  I get scanned tomorrow and we will decide whether the first round of IL-2 was effective and whether we will go for round 2.

    You had been having pretty rapid growth. So, having things substantially slow down is great. Something seems to be working. If it is Karma, I've got more to give. It's sort of like love. It multiplies when shared.
