Post liver surgery CT Scan & CEA results - UPDATE Jun 12th 2014
Today I had appointemnts with my liver surgeon and Oncologist.
CEA is down to 8 and CT Scan was clear. Surgeon said not to worry about the CEA, Oncologist said he still didn't like my CEA.
My Oncologist has decided to NOT put me back on chemo but to watch me closely, so I will have my CEA checked every month, visit with him in two months, and have another CT Scan in three months and we will go from there.
Obviously if the CEA goes down, it will be good, good, good. If it goes up, then I'll be back on the chemo for life.
I'm feeling good, looking good and plan on continue doing good.

No, Lin, Doc is holding off on the chemo to see if my CEA drops into the acceptable range. It still leaves me hanging, but all-in-all, I think its good news.

Don't you hate when they leave you hanging?
Yes, it sounds like good news. I'm glad you're feeling well!!

I wouldnt worry about the cea
I wouldnt worry about the cea level. Enjoy feeling good and living life to its fullest.

That sounds like a reasonable plan.
I'm thinking a chemo break might be much appreciated at this point! As for the CEA, can't surgery cause that to be higher for awhile?

Oh, I'm loving life. I feel great. I did ask the Onc if I could book my trip to England for September, but he said to wait on the results of next weeks CEA test. Gah! I hate waiting.

Yea, waiting is the hardest part. I am going through that now with the Y90. but I am only doing Xeloda in the mean time, no infusions so I am really loving life. I feel like I am loving life too much lately if that's possible.

Is that you in the picture? I wish it were bigger, so I could see it better. I also wish I was that slim.

Last night I was curled in a ball on the floor crying, waiting for the pain pills to give me relief from the stomach pain. Hopefully it will get better soon!!! The slim look is due to that wrong prescription from CVS Pharmacy which messed up my stomach royally. I just found out Friday that the past three hospitalizations (3 in 30 days) due to my stomach was all possible fallout from those wrong meds. YIKES!!!
Any rate on a bunch of pills that are supposed to make it all better at some point, looking forward to that point

That is not the way to keep your body trim and slim.
I am so sorry for the trials of this past month. You really have been through the ringer. How long will it take to get your body back to normal? I sure hope its soon.
I want to look as good as you, but I don't want to go through what you did.
