Unfortunately any surgery crries a small risk of complications. The greater risk though was not having the surgery as RCC spreadding is much worse.

 

Hopefully your husband's issues will resolve themselves over the short term.

Does anyone remember who it was who had the bleeding problem and they used coils around the kidney to finally stop it? I remember reading it but now I can't find it. I hope it's resolved quickly, you must be so worried. And you didn't mean he was in the hospital for 12 days after the surgery, did you?

Hi, it was Sable2900 who had the bleeding problem. She had been home for a little while when she started bleeding. She was rushed back into hospital to have coils fitted. The coils seemed to do the trick initially and she was discharged. A while later she had the same happen again so the procedure was repeated along with antibiotics.

She is doing very well now, everything has healed up well and she has had no further problems. Stephi I know that the circumstances may differ somewhat, but it may well be worth asking if this procedure would help your husband too

things don't always go as planned. But keep the faith. It isn't always easy. Just keep looking forward to when things are going to be better. Keep that goal in mind.

Great memory, Djinnie, glad you found it! Yes, it would be worth checking it out if nothing else works. I'm also curious why he's on an anticoagulant when the problem is bleeding. Must be a reason.

My husband came home finally. The bleeding was minor and stopped on it s own so he was released. So glad that I found this site. Everyone is so caring

Good news..!  This is what we sre here for.. to help when we can.  We do not have all the answers... but.. we will try... plus there is someone around here basically 24-7 so feel free to holler at us at any time.  We all help each other.. and yes as Da Fox Man said.. we also try to put the nail polish on the pig... or is that sugar on the medicine..?  Either way we try to keep each other moving forward... ho hum...  back to motorcycles and alcohol.. and perhaps women... Oooops.. all the women here are attached... but I can still look..!!
