What a fun trip is this has been so far.  The gallbladder surgery went first. With no problems. Then the dr cut through all the llano ayers to get ins out de to find all the hernias. Turns out I had four 1 large and three small. He also did exploritory search to check the organs for any signs of cancer, found none. He is a general surgeon and does not specialized in cancer. My gyn onc may get mad as she considers the cancer her area and no one else. I had planned on treating this like day surgery and go home after. No way. To much pain. Pills would not controll it.surgery was Tuesday morning 10 am  got through in the afternoon around 4pm decided to stay in the hospital for pain contol medicine. Drugs nice. Left on Friday to come home. Miss the hospital bed but making do with full size bed and no control, raise up, go down, raise the back, raise the feet. So nice. I will go back to the dr on Wednesday or next Monday. I have two drain bags. At least those are familiar. I will be glad to get back to same sleeping schedule. I planned on taking two weeks off work to get this done. I hope I can keep that schedule. Talk to you sooj. T

Trish, I am so glad to hear

Trish, I am so glad to hear the surgery went, and heck, why not 'take a look' while you are there, right??  You know what it takes to heal, so take it a day at a time.

    Trisha, been thinking of you

Wondered how the surgery went for you.  Glad they were able to take out the gallbladder and repair the hernias. I am sure you are sore from all that surgery.  Take care of yourself and rest as needed.   Hope you are able to sleep as usual.  When you don't sleep well the rest of the day does not go as well.  How long before you get your head shaved?  In peace and caring.

    Sleep when I can.

I think this is worst than the hysterectomy three years ago.  The dt told us he  spent 1 hour of doing the gallbladder surgery and the last 5 repairing the swiss cheese.hernia surgery and went down through 7 layers of organs, fat,.skin, mustle and moved the organs around to.see.if.there was any sign of cancer.  But boy do I hurt. I think I sat up to much today and I am paying for it tonight. Nothing is working for.pain and for me.to.relax to go to sleep. I have raise almost 1500 for the event now. I go get buzzed on Sunday May 4' I go back to work the surggeon on Monday, May 5. Then I will make pl@n returning to work. Trisha

Put off work as long as possible and go find the hummingbirds, it's spring. Time to renew and feel better!

Spring time. My bff came over

Spring time. My bff came over yesterday so I would not be here alone in case of a fall. We were sitting outside and she was facing me..  She finally turn around and asked what was making the tap tap noise. It was a small woodpecker on our tree. She was very surprised and made the comment that you do not see that very often. I told her I see them all the time in our yard. We have bird feeders in our yard so we have all fypes of birds that come to our yard. Need to get the hummingbird feeder though. Trish

    Birds

I am enjoying their rain songs as I type.  The trees are finally starting to show buds here.  Aaa ah!

hope you slept better last night and are having less pain today.  It's always so nice after surgery when you can be comfortable in your favored sleeping position again and roll over without having to wake up and plan it out.

Whether it's our health causing the stress or everyday life, wildlife and nature brings peace and stress relief for sure!

We have woodpeckers too, another attention grabber!

    Bird feeders

I always had bird feeders up, but the deer practically climbed the tree and knocked them downFrown   I always enjoyed them though.   There was a woodpecker, blue jays, sparrows, cardinals and I forgot a hummingbird too.   Lately, at my office, I have been seeing geese and some turkeys.   It is relaxing to watch them.

I am glad you are enjoying them!

Hope you feel better really soon

Sorry this "simple" surgery turned out to be so difficult. Please take as much time as you can to fully recover.  In spite of feeling good (before surgery) your body has been through a lot in the past 3 years and this may take a little longer than you anticipated.  Has the pain improved yet?

    Hugs,

    Suzanne
