Trying to wean myself from forums for a while....
I'm NED for over 2 years now and have found that when I come and read posts about symptoms or reccurences, I go into a real tailspin of anxiety. I've talked with a therapist who has insisted that I need to stop fixating on cancer and try to get on with my life. She says I have PTSD and have developed Health Anxiety (I call it hypochondria). She has pretty much told me I MUST avoid these forums and any googling.
I removed all my friends, old messages and personal info and asked CSN to remove my account so I'd have to re register to comment but they haven't responded. That's been about a week now. I've also tried to figure out how to block this website and Daily Strength so I can't pull them up unless I were to go back in and unblock them, but keep getting an error.
I was able to NOT come here 100 times a day before my recurrence. In fact, I didn't sign on for a couple of years and only checked in if one of our friends told me something by email that I wanted to read or check up on. That all fell apart when I got sick again.
Anyhow, I wanted to tell y'all this in hopes that my confession will help me avoid the board.
Wish you all well,
Patty

Your the most important
I know we talk about support and sharing, but when push comes to shove, your health and wellbeing are the most important thing. I know what you mean about the anxiety. At one point, if I saw the word reoccuracne in the subject line, I would not open it.
My most sincere wishes for your continued health. You will be missed, but we care for enough to let you go (gosh, that seemed like I was giving you permission. I didn't mean it to sound that way)
many blessings for your future.

All the best
Just take care of yourself and exhale!
Everytime you are tempted to go online - just go for a nice walk.
NED is great and you should be enjoying it not feeling anxiety.

I saw you got removed and now
I saw you got removed and now you're back=} Hard isn't it? It's as if we've been thrown into another world that is unstable at times and so we cling to those who understand. I take breaks from the boards alsi. It's gardening season so it'll be easier. When I first came on I was so scared with what I was reading but now I only read in bits and pieces. The fun posts are breaking up the stress a bit also.
