Met New Surgeon

Met my new surgeon Wednesday after my "wonderful" surgeon left because of difficulties in the "new health care law."  He saved my life and now I'm dealing with a new surgeon but have to admit I'm glad that he has been recommended by my original doctor. I've lost so many doctors because of this new health care law and I'm not happy at all.  I've lost 3 doctors so far since this law has passed and many of you might love this, but I'm sad because changing a doctor with a history of medical issues is hard.   My doctor's office isn't going to replace my original doctor either.  It now takes 10 weeks to get an appointment where it only took 4 weeks before.  Sad day for me.  Sad day for the country as well.  And I can only see it is getting worse as time goes on.

    I know what you...

...are saying. We live in one of the richest little cities in the country and my wife could not get an appointment with a gynecologist. She ended up in the emergency room which even with insurance cost us over a thousand. overall I am happy with this healthcare law especially because of the no pre-existing condition part. Without it there would be millions of people without insurance and those who need it the most. Unfortunately it comes with inconveniences but I don't like to live in a country where there are 40 million people with no insurance.

I am with you on the health

I am with you on the health insurance, Laz.

I am sorry that you had to change docs, Annabelle ( I do understand it is hard to change) and I hope he/ she turns out to be just fine.  More happy that you're NED and I pray that continues and you won't need his/her expertise. I am always curious why some of us have surgeons who are our primary cancer doc and some oncologists.

all I've noticed is that it's

all I've noticed is that it's harder for the insurance company's to screw you over.

im sure they'll find a way around it though.

    Met no, met

I saw the word 'met' and my heart dropped.

We have a completely different meaning to vocablary now, don't we.  My husband always jokes when we say or hear words like 'but, behind, depends, stink, poo, rear' I could go on.

I am so sorry you lost one of your team. When we find someone we are comfortable with,  we don't want to see them go.

I hope your new surgeon turns out to be as wonderful as the last one.

    new doc

I too have a new surgeon! But not due to insurance.  Being on medicare and a supplement the new law has no effect on me.  But my surgeon left Tucson and moved to Washington state.

So next month a new surgeon will be giving me my colonoscopy.  Change is the only sure thing in this life of ours LOL
