Sad update

in Kidney Cancer #1

Blkjak has been struggling for a while. The drugs that showed some promise several weeks back quickly stopped working. The rumors in his lungs have gotten so big and he was hospitalized for a few days last week. He came home on oxygen. Last night his breathing was really labored. So we went back to the hospital and he was admitted it the ICU. He died this morning. I am so sad for my children and myself. Even though he wasn't doing well, he really went quickly once he went downhill. He was so miserable the last few weeks and I am happy he is in peace. But I miss him horribly. 

While I wanted to let you all know this, I also want to do a Texas Wedge-style disclaimer. Brad only survived 13 months from diagnosis. However, nothing about his case fit any norm for RCC. They could not classify his type and really felt that he had a rare and very aggressive form of RCC. So please don't lose hope for yourselves. I know he would want others to remain positive and focus on living.

    Mrs-b, Sorry about your loss. From what I remember about your posts, he was a fighter and that counts a lot.

    My Dear mrs_blkjak,

         I wish there was some magical words that I could say to help take away the pain that you and your children are feeling right now.  I was so hoping that he would do an about face and be ok.  I am sending love, prayers, and strength to you and your family.  I also know that every time the doctors tell me that I am NED, I will make sure to say a thank you to Brad for being another angel who will continue helping us fight this horrible disease from up above!

    I am so sorry to hear this! I must say, I am in shock!  I never expected this after that post that the chemo was working for him.  I don't have many words, except that I am praying for you all! May God watch over you all and comfort you.  So sorry!  XOXO  You have have been a good support system to him, I am sure he knew this and appreciated and loved you very much!

    I am grateful you came here to let us know. Life can be fragile. But as you said, he's done suffering. He'll show his presence around you, please know that. Watch for it! He's as close as your breath.

    Let us know how you are doing. I too am a widow, slept with his clothes on the bed for awhile to feel his scent and to hold onto something, BUT I still feel him all around me..guiding me.

    Unfortunately only you can grieve, we cannot do that work for you. I wish we could...

    Know that I'll be thinking of you especially.

    Such sad news!

    I am so very sorry for your sad loss Mrs. Blkjak, no one has fought harder than you and Brad to beat this awful disease. At such a time here you are with words of support for the rest of us. We can honor Brad by fighting as hard as he did. I will keep you all in my prayers!

    It is a sad outcome. I can only imagine how hard this must be. I feel terrible for you and your family. You provided Blkjak with compassion and understanding. I'm sure he is looking down and thanking you. I'm so sorry.

    To hear this news today. My thoughts are with you and your family. Having lost my own husband 9 months after being diagnosed with metastatic melanoma I think I know what you are going through. I am fighting hard against mRCC for the sake of our daughter who doesn't deserve to lose both parents to very similar diseases. I so hate cancer!
