I always find this site so informative.

I have had a stressful month and was quite cranky almost well very PMS like. I am on tamoxifen for 4 years and havent had a cycle since chemopause 4.5 years. then one day started bleeding and have continues. Called my gyn, had an Ultrasound. lining was 0.9 mm supposed to be 0.4 mm. and a fibroid. we decided to do a hysteroscopy d and c procedure in may. biopsies. At first i was pretty bummed, but now after an initial freak out I am calmer. I just wish i wasnt so affected by these ups and downs. Really what did I think would happen? anyway ....

    Breathe

Doesn't mean anything yet.  I know, easier said than done.  Sending you lots of hugs.  When is the D & C?  I'd see if it could be done sooner just because of the freak out that might happen again.  So sorry you have to worry about this and hope it is all clear and maybe even the D & C will take care of it.

    Similar here three and half

Similar here three and half years on tamoxifen then two injections to stop ovary from working.  No periods for All that time.  Then a bleed for a few days, stopped, then another.  Turns out uterus lining thickened and a large polyps to be removed, benign.  Now off everything.  Personally I would like a hysterectomy as my ovaries kicked back in when I stopped everything, estrogen positive.

    I was pre-menopuase prior to

I was pre-meno prior to cancer-after 2 1/2 yrs on tamoxifen i started bleeding pretty heavy. I went to my gyno the next day. (prior i had internal ultrasound ,  not sure of the name of procedure, followed by a D & C every 3-4 mths to check for thickening of my uterus. BINGO mine was very thick-3 yr ago next week I had my total hysterctomy and all is well now.

That's a Side Effect to Tamoxifin

That is/can be a side effect to Tamoxifin.  Why in the heck don't the doctors tell you that when you first go on Tamoxifin.  Prior to start taking Tamoxifin you should have an ultra sound done on your uterus so that you have a guideline as to the condition of your uterus.  Have you been going to your gyne for an annual pap smear and did your gyne know that you were on Tamoxifin?

    I Can Relate

I am on tamoxifen, 4 years.  This happened to me about two years ago.  I started to bleed, was referred to my gyno, biopsy was done due to thickness, followed by d&c.  Since then, I have been okay.  I continue with tamoxifen.  It happens.

You are doing right by you and are taking care of business, Penny.  Your doctor is also keeping an eye on the situation.  Take a deep breathe and remember to breath.

Let us know how you are doing.  (((Hugs)))

I had a few ultrasounds but

I had a few ultrasounds but docs here in Boston do not do the ultrasounds regularly. I am a very emotional person but have been dealing with cancer for 20 years. This particular one just for 5. I know how to 'talk" to myself to handle the stress bu I find this time of year is tough. I also had a really rough go of chemo, and then I had a serious    accident at work last July, so i am seriously traumatized. and so this spring was just yucky. Then i sprung a leak and was just  not thrilled.

I understand tamoxifen can lead to thickened uterine lining. i also think I fall on that line where I was not in menipause when i got diagnosed and went into chemopause. Docs said I could get my period again. and i was skeptical at  my age. Not that I think this was a period, but it was interesting how PMS like I was. It may have just been the stress. I think as the time gets closer I may be more stressed. It is May12 that is when my docs next OR date is.

Does anyone know about how long it takes to recover? I forgot to ask.

    Penny,

I ma very sorry. Nothing is easy with cancer, even a "just a pill" which suppose to protect you.

Everybody is different, Recovery takes about 2 days.

Still hope to see you and hug in person.

    Good luck
