not you!!!cleo said:Not you!!!
I think that there are posts that are considered contentious for some reason and they are quietly removed.......but we never know why!! I sometimes wonder "is it somethinng I said?"
On "Anal Cancer" board several threads discussing financial issues and Obamacare got deleted.
On "Ovarian Cancer" board harmless jokes were removed.
On "Testicular Cancer" a post about UK charity "Cock-in-a-sock" got flagged and removed.
There was a post where a person was describing what he sells on eBay and that got censored.
The funniest bleeps I saw was censoring the words r a c c o o n s "raccoons", s a l t w a t e r "saltwater" and magna c u m laude "magna **** laude" (guess why).
Probably there is more.

Watch this be deleted!!!!
Those deletions made me smile!! I wonder sometimes if moderators are chosen to strict guidlines re humour/transparency. I thought that as long as you weren't being abusive these boards were for information.....and as much as you can get from anywhere as who knows what will be the trigger for you. I would be more amenable if the reason for the deletion was given under the post heading rather than the post getting whipped away altogether.

Mine got deleted because it
Mine got deleted because it was about a fundraiser I am going to do for kids cancer and it asked people to sponsor me. This site is supposed to be free from solicitations so they deleted it. I know because I sent a message about where did my post go and they told me that. I understand where they are coming from. This site is for support, information and free from people asking for.money to support pet projects. Thanks to those that did sponsor me before it got deleted. Trish

I understand why they monitor, and while there are new members there are some of us who are regulars and get to know, and consider fellow posters, friends. I am glad I got the chance to support Trish and hope the "mention" in this thread isn't scrubbed.

Laughter is a wonderful treatment! I remember hearing years ago about a guy who went and got a TON of Three Stooges shows and got himself better with laughter. Who knows if it is true, but it sure makes me feel good to hear.

This is just an update that I have been asked to supply my journey with cancer and why I am doing this fundraiser. I was hesitant about it but said that if would hp one woman get checked out to find answers about her body I would do the interview. I will see how it goes. My family wants me to dye my hair before it is shaved off I am still debating that. I go for my hernia operation next week and the dr is also going to remove my gallbladder so I will be off work for a few weeks then go back to work bald. I have been trying to get everyone prepared for it and that it NOT related to my cancer so they do not freak out.
The biggest problem is typing a message on my phone. I keep losing the messages I type. I lost several this weekend and just gave up. Prayers for all. Trish

Over the years I've read that laughter can help people heal. Perhaps a boost in endorphins that happens with laughter actually boost the immune system. I have read that laughter can lower blood pressure, too. Supposedly, laughter can also help reduce the experience with pain. So I say, we women here all need to laugh as much as possible!
Blessings,
Cathy

Trish, you will have to share the interview with us.
I plan to if it actually published. She could not guarantee that it would. I also plan to share a before, during and after shot. I plan to dye my hair a funky red and spike it for work on Monday. I will wash the gel out before surgery but it will all be shaved before I go back to work. I feel really blessed that I have people supporting me in this. The goal was $300 but I upped to $1500 because of supporters. It all goes to kids cancer research at the childrens medical center here in Dallas. More good news. Hope this will not get deleted but I am just reporting details and not asking for donations. Thanks. Trish
