Multiple NonCalcified Nodules
During a recent trip to ER because of unrelenting upper abdominal area pain CT Scan of Abdomen picked up a 1.1 cm noncalcified nodule in the lower left lobe of lung. Nothing was found in the abdomen except that it showed i had several cysts inside my left kidney. ER recommended I go to my Primary doctor so I did and 2 days later I had a dedicated CT Scan of lungs and they found 2 - 1.1 cm and a 1.0 cm one is broad based to the pleura space and both are in the lower left lobe. It has been driving me crazy not knowing what they are but I am in a waiting game for my Health Ins. to take effect on April the 1st. I have an appt. with a Pulmonologist on April the 9th. My Primary doctor said they will probably do a CT Guided Biopsy. Does anyone have any clue as to what these could be? I am fixing to be 38. My moms dad died from Lung Cancer in 1991 and her younger brother is in Hospice now after battling lung cancer. She has lost 2 sisters to breast cancer. Am I too young for this?

95% of nodules usually go away by themselves.
As difficult as this is to deal with, it is a waiting game. As I said most do go away. Some, they monitor every 3-6 months for three years and if there is no change they declare them benign. sadly, you are not too young. I follow a young lady on twitter who was diagnosed four years ago at the age of 9.
If you have lungs, you are at risk for lung cancer.
There is no way to know who will or will not get LC yet. My grandmother smoked and drank nearly every single one of her 96 years. Most of her children smoked around her And her death resulted from complications of a surgery after a fall.
Keep busy, don't let this posibility rule your life but stay on top of your exams. At this point, if the condition does become cancerous, you are at a very early stage and it is possible to effect a cure.

hope this helps
Hope this helps , I went for a heart scan a random scan that turned out to be fine, but in the process the ct scan picked up a noncalcified 8,7mm lung nodule and same as you, they sent me to do a complete ct scan of my entire chest and it confirmed the first findings (I was scared to death they would find a million of these things) but they only found the one . My local doctor set me up with a thoracic surgery Dr who visits our local hospital. So in meeting with him he said they could not do a needle biospy because the nodule was just to close to a artery to do it safely. So he said we could wait and rescan in 3 mts . I asked about removing it and he said yes they could but it would be wise to have a PET scan to see if this nodule had traveled to the lung from anougher part of the body( again I just knew it came from my colon , breast, brain) my mind just ran away with me. But get the PET scan I did , it all was negative WHOOO OOO breath!!! So knowing we were dealing with one small spot I chose to have it removed, so Dec 10th 2013 I had it removed by a process called Vats in Chicago Il. The nodule turned out to be a swollen lymph node surrouneded by scar tissue ( why it showed up noncalcified I have no idea) but it turned out to be nothing. So the whole point of this story is I could of just waited and rescaned and it most likely would have went away . But like you, when you think it could cancer you want answers , I just know how I felt , and what I chose. It seems like in your case the can needle biospy and that will give you answers ( GREAT) I never had that option . Like DENNYCEE said they do 95% time go away. So hope my story helps let me know if you have any further questions sending you PEACE AND HUGS .!!!! HOPE YOU GET THE ANSWERS YOU ARE SEEKING

Thanks you guys I am no longer nervous or anxious just waiting till April 9th for my next appt with the Pulmonologist to decide what to do. I also have a mammogram scheduled as my breast has been going through some wierd color changes. I cannot scare myself what happens is going to happen. I just have to have faith that God will not give me anything I cannot handle. I am only 38 and have the last of my 3 kids graduating High School this year and leaving for college so I will occupy my thoughts with good ones.
