Dry Cough

Since the month long prednisone is almost complete, hubby has been getting hoarse and having a dry cough.  The swelling has been coming back somewhat slowly also.  Going to start the massage to see if that helps.

Anyone have dry cough and hoarsness?  Frown

    cough

    Cindy,

I am just 10 days short of being 2 years post and while I am not hoarse as much anymore I do struggle to talk normally and for any length of time.  As for dry cough, the most minor things can set off coughing, like a tiny bit of spit, a piece of chocolate or just trying to clear my throat.

For me, I believe all will get better with time, but I am getting use to things different being the “new normal”.

    Horse and Dry Pony....

Ohhh, excuse me ... that's another story..

I'm pretty sure that most of us have a lot of being hoarse and having a dry cough off and on for several months, to even like Matt a few years out or more.

I'm nearly at five years post, and while I rarely get hoarse anymore, I still have a dry cough occasionally. I usually wake during the night with a dry cough as I do tend to dry out during sleep.

    Best,

    John

    Dry cough

Cindy, I'm about a 9 months out of treatment and I definitely have dry cough that can be triggered by food, drink, talking, etc.   It's not too bad and not much of a nuisance but I always have water handy if I have to talk a lot.   It's getting better for sure but still there.

    Good luck,

    Keith

    Yep

Has happened and caused concern when it happens but has always just resolved itself.

    Am still experiencing dry

Am still experiencing dry cough.  My mouth/throat area gets dried up when talking a lot.  Like others mentioned, it may also be triggered by an item in my throat.  For me, I need to lubricate my mouth a lot.  Normally, a sip of water will take care of it.
