Lump/swelling
It's good I have somewhere to go when not sure of something? I have a lump/swelling come up under my left ear it's quite hard and when I touch it my ear hurts. When I had a lump on my neck which was a cancerous lymph node it was painless. the lump or swelling has been swollen for a week now. It's not a great pain just sore like a bad ear, not acheing. I take aspirin and that takes away the discomfort, I have my monthly scope test a week tomorrow but in the meantime I,m wondering if anyone has had ear swelling with rads, I'm 5 months out of rads now. I posted before that my throat is completely block I can't swallow or burp and they couldn't do anything when they explored they tried but nothing happened. I always feel reassured when someone comes up with similar but harmless symptoms.

Jim had a knot kind of in
Jim had a knot kind of in front and lower to his ear. It was a gland that was badly infected. It got to be the size of a baseball over the weekend so monday they hospitalized him and he spent a week on intervneous antibiotics. Doctor said we were lucky to catch it before it became absessed. I would call HEAD and Neck doc, tell what is going on and see about getting in sooner.

I was thinking along the same lines, I felt it's an ear infection I will make an appt to see GP in the week. It's not quite as sore today but I,ve left it alone instead of poking and prodding it all the time. I did wonder if it was a side effect from my attempted dilation, I guess when you are 'out' they pull your head about to get the correct position. I know my tongue was really sore where they used forceps to pull it out of the way. The swelling is on the opposite side to my original site which was the right side ofmy neck. I had stronger rads on the right side but also rads to the left side, funny enough I had more damage on the weaker side than the right side.....more burn sores.
I,ve been following your site with Jim! you really are a strong person! he!so lucky to have such a caring partner! he sounds a lovely man and I can tell you're soul mates. Keep that strong spirit up it must help him to get strength from you.
