Hi all.. So my boss just announced that I am retiring. Too late to change my mind. Thanks for your support.. Love you all.. Ron
Well, Ron, I bet this feelsWell, Ron, I bet this feels bitter sweet. Yes it is difficult to leave a job you love and the people you work with. Sounds like a decent package and trust me you are lucky to get that.
Don't forget to contact ALLSUP who is known to get you an answer for SSDI in 4 months. That is exactly how long it took for me. When you get your answer for SSDI, you will decide which is better (bigger) to live on SSDI or regular social security amt.
Good luck ..retirement can be awesome! But again, I understand any emotion you are feeling is deserved..its a process.
Warmly, Jan

I just got home from my sister's retirement. I was a blubbering idiot - and I am not the one retiring!!
There will be some difficult moments saying goodbye. But just think of the fun that lays ahead!

I can certainly understand how you must have felt. It sounds like heaven to retire, but it is still difficult to end that other chapter.

HI All..! A quick update. I just looked on the Social Security WEB site.. and there was my approval letter..! It tells me how much I get, and when I get my first check.. which is September. Amazing that the Government can actually work properly at times..!!
Later...

I should state, that anyone with Metatastic Cancer and under the age of 62 should consider it and see if it makes sense for them. Two years after getting the first check a person automatically gets Medicare A and B. There is a huge list of eligible ailments on the Government WEB site, not just Cancer.

The form is on line, and will take 1 to 2 hours. I got approved in less than 24 hours..!
