I love your optomism.

I have SO much to be thankful for and always looked to the "bright side" when my husband went through his journey. Many people often said, "how can you have such a positive outlook?!" Well, little did they know that I had many breakdowns in between, but living in faith and hope....well, it is who I am. Through Zachs journey, I was blessed to have quality time with him where I got to express everyday how much he was loved and how much I enjoyed caring for him. I got to pray with him and enjoy laughter a little more than maybe before his diagnosis. I often was reminded in the world that we live in that a single gunshot or car accident could have ripped him away with me at any given time. Instead, I was able to tell him everything I had wanted. (Can one ever really get sick of hearing..."babe.....I love you!"

Through out his journey, of course there were many bad days. But also many good days! Filled with family and friends and of course lots of movie nights! Those were the days I rejoiced in. The star gazing and fun filled adventures and even mini roadtrips! The number of people who were encouraged by his story and who encouraged us daily. I was blessed to go to work and meet other survivors and have a new compassion that I may had not had before our journey.

And through his passing this past month, I am blessed by an amazing church family (most of whom I have never met as I am new to the city) who have brought me meals, mowed my lawn and... yepp... picked up dog poo! People who have brought me to dinner and who have just listened as I try to figure this whole thing out!

While I am young (27) I had two amazing years with my wonderful husband. I learned what "For better and for worse" really meant...

Thank you for reminding me how blessed I really am.

Your road has been hard the last few years, but I am glad you can see that even in bad times good things can be seen. The hope that we have as Christians it that we will one day be together again; In a please where there is no cancer, sickness, and no death.

It is good to know that you are inspired. Learning to live with cancer diagnosis is one of the best things that happened in my life because I was devastated when the doctor told me the news. I have found that learning to live with a cancer diagnosis inspired me to appreciate my family and for me each moment that we spend together is more precious than gold. I am blessed to be here. I was daignosed with Stage II breast cancer in 2011. After chemo, surgery & radiation my recent test results reflect no reoccurrence.

There are two ways to look at life, one is pore little me, the other is to take what comes and keep going doing the best you can each day. I know a lot of people who when told they have cancer give-up and die, and then many like us keep going. To me faith has a lot to do with it because I know there is nothing that can happen to me that my Lord and savior does not know about and gives me the strength to handle it.  I agree with you I am going to enjoy life and all my grandchildren and family as much as I can every day. Thanks for your input and I pray that God will continue to bring blessing into your life each day.
