in Gynecological Cancers (other than ovarian and uterine) #1

My mom is getting avastin with her chemo on Thursday. The side effects scare me!!! Appreciate any news anyone has with this. Thank you!!

    When I first looked into

    When I first looked into Avastin it scared the crap out of me.  I have calmed down about it since.

     

    the potential side effects are scary, ( heamoraging, perforated bowel, ect.) but are on the rare side.  Sometimes, the benefits outweigh the risks.  And, there are soooo many people taking avastin now for a multitude of tumor types.  Most of them have no problems, maybe an increase in blood pressure controlled by blood prssure meds, and then return to normal after treatment stops.  For some, who go on avastin alone for many months as maintenance treatment, find they have negligible side effects as compared to chemo.  

     

    I dont recall call reading many posts on this board concerning avastin, but if you head over to the colorectal boards and search avastin you will see many a posts on the subject.
