Tomaxafen and Uterine Lining Thickness
I have been on tomaxafen for 2 1/2 years and found out yesterday I will be needing my third D&C since I started taking this drug. My lining is currently 5 x the size it should be and my last D&C was 14 months ago. Thought about a hysterectomy but not sure if I am comfortable with all the changes that might cause. Is there a limit on how many D&C's a person should have, can they eventually cause lasting damage, and how thick is to thick. i have to be on this drug 2 1/2 more years. Other option is quitting the drug. Any comments would be appreciated. 53, not completely through menopause, last period was in August but with my past record the past few years ...... not holding my breath.

I had this done for 4-5 x
I had this done for 4-5 x followed by D & C each time. (at aboaut 2 1/2 yrs on the med)
I asked to have total hystectomy-I could not see myself every 3-6 mths having D & C etc...I just FINISHED MY TAMOXIFEN IN AUGUST 2014-Happy (my personal choice of course) that I did the total hyterctomy (I was 53 at the time of that surgery)

Tamoxifen
Came off this year after 3 years. Uterine lining thick with a golf ball diameter polyps. Got that removed. Staying off Tamoxifen now. As also caused Jaw Bone Disease. Every ones personnel choice. They decided not to give me a D and C.

NO side effects or anything noticeable since my hystercomty-perhaps a bit of weight (no change in eating) so it could be teh surgery or just my age (going to be 55 in July-but always very thin all my life)

I have also had ovarian cysts , and uterine thickening. They just keep watching it. I also am 53 years and still getting my menstrual Cycle. The Dr. doesn't seem overly concerned, I have spotted a few times, and they have done the transvaginal ultra sound, the good thing is since you still get a period, we are less likely to have cancer because we are shedding our lining (researched this online). I am due for another Paps, and wander if they will even check any thing again. I have one more year of Tamoxifen!
