Just out of the hospital
I just got home from the hospital.
Really long week with over ten hours of surgery last Thursday.
The surgeons were amazed at the results.
I have no good explanation.
Still on pain meds and partial bowel function, passing gas but not fecal matter.
There is an earlier post that gives details of how the surgery was plagued with a variety of administrative concerns that almost stopped the surgery.
Biopsy had shown new cancer on the liver. This was corroborated by a CT and PET.
Pathology ordered on samples during surgery show what appears to be dead tumor tissue.
Going to restart Chemo soon and if need relook ablation of one spot on liver should it not resolve with chemo.
We were also able to r/o cancer in lung based on comparison of new and old films showing behavior inconcsisitent with lung nodule growth.
Lots and lots more to tell, really need some time to get thoughts in order.
Peace,
Art

Art … It is so good to hear you are on the other side of
your surgery. I know you must be very grateful that is behind you. You have a plan in place to take care of the spot on your liver. Rest now and come back to tell more when you feel a bit better.
Peace and healing. ~ Cynthia

Glad to hear you're home, Art.
So the lung nodules are not cancer, but they found a spot on the liver? Sounds like overall pretty positive results, but will wait for your update to hear more. Hope the healing goes quickly!
