what do you think?

in Lung Cancer #1

What do you think , that the single lung nodule that was taken out by Vats surgery was a simple inflamed lymph node? The nodule was 8.7 and the path report says they found a 8mm nodule but the final finding was a 4mm lung lymph . I questioned the DR and he said the process the pathogly dr does some times causes the tissue sample to shrink , he says that is the only thing he can think of to explain the two different sizes. Has anyone seen this on there path report and had a question if so how was it explained to you , any info would be of great help. Thank you in advance

    Second look?

    Never heard of anyone missing the mark that much.    ThAts about 1/8 of an inch difference.  when two different doctors look at the same thing, one might read 6mm while the other perceives it as 7mm.   the only thing I can think of is that the tissue may not have been properly fimews when placed on the slide.  This may be something you want to ask the oncos at cancergrace. Org.

    thank you , dennycee I just posted my question on cancergrace.org , Yep I am confused so maybe I can get some advice from that site. after all I would feel pretty stupid if this was a big mess-up on thier part and I paid the price because they ( the surgen) gave me answers that made me feel all well and good. I guess It jusT all needs to make sence to me and so far it does not, so holding off on that feeling all is safe and sound for now, thank you for the info BIG HELP
