It is a time of sadness for some and hope for many … will posting pet pics help?

Maybe it is the winter doldrums or all the struggles ... I don't want to be insensitive, but our animal friends always enrich our lives. Even a photo of a loving anmal can raise our oxytocin levels, reduce stress, and make us feel better  ... maybe some pet pictures will be enjoyable.

I'll start ... this is my Maxwell.

Thanks.  :)   What I find interesting about this breed (British Blue Shorthair) is that the fur can appear to change color depending on the light.  In this picture the flash caused her to look light gray, in other pics she looks deep gray, and yet her coat can also appear "blue" like when I took the Avatar picture.  I've had a few people look at her picture and tell me she looks like a stuffed animal since her fur is so dense.  :)  She's been a wonderful little companion for me since I was feeling quite lonely.  Now if she would only stop sleeping on my head when I'm sleeping...   ;D

    Yup, I definitely think

Yup, I definitely think Sophie is a stuffed animal.  I am not convinced that she's real.  If she is real, you should get her into cat modeling or doing commercials.  She could make a fortune.  She looks like a cat that stays where you put her.  Does she ever do anything "bad?"  such as, hop up onto the counter top or intentionally vomit for the sole purpose of being able to re-eat her food?

    Pets of sorts

I don't have any household pets, but love those that live free.

As a bird watcher, even during my treatment, I was able to enjoy the birds in my garden.

Here is a Cedar Waxwing sitting on my deck.

    Yeah...

I think it's all a big joke on LivinginNH's part.

There is no way that cat is real!

While I was undergoing my third liver recurrance & chemo, we bred our Yorkshire Terrier.  The puppies were born in August right at the time chemo was starting to really take it's toll again.  Even with four kids to keep me busy and feeling loved, I can't tell you how much joy these babies brought me!  It's true, animals soothe the soul.  Four of the puppies went to friend's homes.  We kept one and still have puppy playdates every week.

Here they are at eight weeks.

And four of them just a couple of weeks ago.

    He's a Keeshond,

otherwise known as the "Dutch Barge Dog" or "Smiling Dutchman".

They are the sweetest dogs ever, although very barky, and they don't require much in the way of grooming (altho if you got a closer look at him, you would see that he actually looks like a hobo dog, so I should probably brush him more!).
