Agent Orange & GISTBilljo said:GIST
I also have a GIST and a Vietnam vet. I applied to the VA for a claim. They has requested documanation for a link between Agent Orange and a GIST. Can find any on the internet. Can you help? Thank You, BilljoHi Billjo, I hope by now you have found this information and have filed a VA compensation claim. If not the following should help. A decision by the Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) in docket number 07-25, Citation number 0926356 found that GIST tumors are a soft tissue sarcoma and meet the presumptive criteria for an Agent Orange condition. In that case they granted service connected disability. If you haven't filed a claim yet do so and cite this BVA decision.

Hi jtbrua — thanks to the Docket #. 1969 RVN vet including areas heavily agent oranged. Level 4 GIST found in May of 2014. I'm on imatinib (Gleevec™) since since surgery. Does VA cover any of the cost of that seriously spendy drug?
