Djinnie is it like a boob biopsy with ultrasound?
Eims x
Been there, done that. Mine was a needle aspiration. Granted, it turned in to an open biopsy (lumpectomy). All of them are scary but none more so than those that are performed while wide awake. Djinnie is strong tho, she'll do OK.

Djinnie. You said that basically the surgeon has control and the oncologist is secondary (basically). In our case the frustrating aspect was that the oncologist had control and had to okay surgery for removal of the primary tumor. We wanted that sucker out and went to a different medical center and ran into the same dynamics. The oncologist and the oncology team had to give the OK that surgery could be done. It's just so hard to get what you want. If you went somewhere else, would they just yank the little suckers out?
I'm thinking of you. I'm impressed with your strength. I'm going to go have a glass of wine in your honor. Wish you were here!

Hi a_oaklee,
Thanks for your comments. The system here in France is that your case goes before a board of specialists which include Oncologists. No treatment can be performed without being sanctioned by the board. While the Surgeons are able to contain your health issue you are under their care. If you get to the point that surgery is no longer helping you are transferred to an Oncologist. At the moment that's a comforting thought!
The French are very rigid, you can't override their systems. One good thing is you are treated very quickly here, unlike the UK, and my health care is covered at 100%. I am very fortunate to have this sort of health care, so even though it has it's frustrations I shouldn't complain. If I were to go to another Surgeon it would be the same outcome, biopsy first.

Dear Djinnie,
I have often wonder why take the time to do the biopsy, if you can do a biopsy why not just remove the whole thing and get it out of the body! It seems to me that doing the biospy and then surgery is double the time and effort. I am wishing you the very best news that it can be and that things go very smoothly and easy for you! I wish we could skip all the anxiety and go directly to the reports, it would be so much easier on all of us! You have always been a rock to me Djinnie, with the best advice you could give. I am now your rock, and wishing and praying for a great speedy report of "ALL IS OK"!
Love and prayers for good health!

Oh Brenda! your words just choked me up! That is so kind of you thankyou! I wish they would just remove and study the growths, it makes no sense to me either. There are dangers with this sort of biopsy that I am not comfortable with. I am doing my best to remain determined that all will be well, the determination ebbs and flows a bit! My husband always calls me a tough old biddie, so for once in our married life maybe I should listen to him! lol!
Take care:)

Ron had gone out xmas shopping. As he shopped, the sales girl came over and asked if she could help him. He explained that he wanted to buy some biker gloves for his girlfriend but didn't know her size. So the sales girl slipped her hands into his and asked,"Do her hands feel like these?" He said they did and as he was ready to buy them the salesgirl said, "And is there anything else that I can do for you?" He thought a moment and said, "Well, I was thinking about getting her a bra........
