Friends with ongoing rads,

This is a little off the beaten path, but did you know you can have your treatment watched by others, i.e. caretaker,

It is an experience not for everyone but my wife was glad to see the whole procedure (pre-mask, mask and rad treatment).  I am glad I asked as I wanted her to see what all the fuss was about and she got to report back to me what was going on back stage.

    My husband

My husband would have loved to watch, we never asked.  He did get to see the set-up for the Cyberknife.  He recently had Moh's surgery for skin cancer and let me know that one person could be in the room with him--NOT ME--no way, thank you very much!

    I didn't know that....

though I'm sure my husband was happy where he was....in the waiting room.  My little sister, though, would have loved it, I'm sure Laughing

    darn

Got me thinking it would have been great to position my smartphone up at the monitor in the control room and record one of the sessions. Would be great to have as a reference video to give folks a better idea of how quick and simple it really is and might allevive some of the anxiety.

    Watching

My husband is a "watching" kind of guy.  He wanted to see them put the G-tube in.

Me personally, I'd rather not be present - really, not present at all - even for the procedures.

I'm pondering whether or not I'll need a mask again for the new one.  If i could, I'd take a sleeping pill now, and wake up again when I'm 52 - that's in August - I should be done by then.

    Witness

Marcia was there when they fitted me with the mask but never watched the treatment itself. I imagine she could have if she wanted on the monitor but the room where the Tomo machine was was sealed up like a fall out shelter.

    Watching...

Better left to the imagination, in my opinion.
