Scans are in
Hi friends,
After waiting a week and a half for results Jeff finally got his primary care doctor to give him a call back with the results. ALL CLEAR!! This is Jeff's two year scan, which from what we have been told is a pretty big milestone. Next scan will be in six months, we get to take a breather for awhile. We have some new things on the horizon for us as well. We have been looking for a new home, as we will begin the foster to adopt process very soon. We both look forward to new adventures in our lives. Jeff continues to work on gaining weight and works out quite a bit, he feels pretty good most of the time. We look forward to many more clear scans.
Hoping the best to all out there who are in treatment and in recovery,
Niki

Awesome!!
Great news for you guys. Two years is an important milestone. My doctors told me that it was the turning point from short term success to long term success.
I also wish you well with your fost/adopt journey. I worked for years in foster care and adoption and saw so many folks have success building their families through that route. It can get a bit bumpy at times, but if you've done well on the EC roller coaster, you're probably well suited to succeed on the fost/adopt ride.
Congratulations,
Ed

Thanks everyone for the well
Thanks everyone for the well wishes and congratulations. This has been the longest two years of my life. I of course will still always worry, but a certain amount of stress has been lifted as we move into year two. I hope eveyone out there who is just starting treatment can find hope by reading our success story, that is the reason I post the good news. I know when Jeff was first diagnosed I looked for any and all good news stories I could find about EC. I am very excited to start a new chapter in our lives and use the life lessons we have learned from EC.
Hope and Peace to all,
Niki

Woo Hoo my friend!
NikiMo - I am So GLAD to see this good news! I think of you and Jeff often. I'm thrilled beyond belief that he's doing well and gaining weight.
And many many blessings on you both as you move into the foster to adopt route. You will make remarkable parents, I know. You know how precious life is and that will make a little one in your home all the more special.
All my love and BIG {hugs} to you both!
