Cancer Hurts
I have come to the conclusion that even after you beat cancer it comes back and laughs in your face. Last Thursday a Business Agent I work with, his wife died from it, and now today the Secretary/Treasurer of our local was told he has a brain tumor. They are shipping him to Philly tomorrow. Not diagnosed as cancer and certainly I pray it's not. Sometimes other peoples cancer hurts more than your own. Sorry...............I had to vent. And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

yes !
I've seen my share of this increaibly heart breaking dx. (in all forms) I think your right about it effecting us differently when it's not us personally. But with us I think we feel it deeper and more personally now. All I can do is lend a shoulder and listen with my heart. I also now attend CSA get togethers to raise awareness. I was one that felt cancer would never touch....phfft, life was to fast paced, to many worries and things to accomplish. Reality check. Good subject, love the post ! Hugs sent to you and yours ! Cancer Hurts - BUT, progress is being made...
Doug,
Thank you for that vent. You’ve nailed it. I think pretty much all of us have that same feeling, and we echo your thoughts. It fricking hurts every day! Someone we know, a relative, friend, neighbor, or even us, gets diagnosed daily, and it stings like hell.
SO…we just have to keep fighting, and keep positive…and that’s hard. But it’s organizations like the American Cancer Society that help fund researchers to find an actual cure instead of just treatment for cancer, as well as provide sites like this so we (patients and survivors) can find support and important information. Let’s keep the faith and let’s keep fighting.
David (2 time survivor)

It's the gift
that keeps giving and I wish it would stop. Yes, cancer hurts. Not only us but those around us.

a little wierd
when i was diagnosedlast year i was on a project where two other people before me were diagnosed with cancer - i was the third - all differant types - one good man passed dont know what happened to the other and so far so good for me. but yes i agree cancer sucks - i have seen my fair share in my own familly especially heart breaking was my little niece - colon cancer got my dad. but anyway my philosophy is when your time is up its up. whether its cancer or getting hit by a bus or dying of old age. really all we can do is live one day at a time and enjoy it as best we can. when you think of our lives as a timeline we are all just shooting stars - i hope your co worker gets well and its not C

I agree. As I got my own news yesterday, I couldn't help but think of all the others and their families saddened by this horrible disease. Prayers for all.
