My doggie died...stupid cancer
My sweet Bubba died yesterday. He woke up very sick and was strange all morning. We took him to the vet and his bloodwork came back horrible....they sent him to the 24 hours animal hospital. After an ultrasound and more tests we learned that a tumor in his stomach had ruptured spreading cancer through his body. There was nothing anyone could do. We had to make the decision to let him go peacefully. Have I mentioned just how much I HATE Cancer? He was the best dog and we love him so much. He was 10 1/2 years old. RIP Bubba...we all miss you so much.

So Sorry
I lost my last two Goldens to this crap. I join the hate list.
I know most of you have read this, but it aways seems appropriate, and causes my eyes to mist over every time I read it.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

i also cried when i read it and thot of bubba and my old dog and wolfen's dog (died in summer) and the others who have loss a furr buddie. this has been a very sad week for me. i lost a friend to colon cancer last Sunday, then i heard about poor bubba yesterday and then today i found out a very dear friend lost her 18 year old grandson. Plus another friend was dx w/esophagus cancer today. Then we hear Katie's sad news. It's just toooo much sadness and heartache. It makes me wonder how much the heart can take b4 it's says its just too much. The pain I'm feeling for bubba, ray and katie is almost too much to bare. TL, i'm feeling the same way you are, i'll be very glad to see 2013 go and I pray for a happy and healthier 2014 for all of us. God bless you all.

TL,
I know it's very soon, but after about a month and a half we broght Sofie home. She brightens our life every day and while I really miss Hunter & Stash, she makes it bareable. Give some thought to sharing the next 10+ years with a new friend.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your special family member, Bubba. What a sweetheart he was.
As Debbie mentioned, we lost our sweet Brownie just a couple of weeks after Ron died. She was a very loving dog & my son's best friend. He was so lost without her & a few weeks later, he adopted another friend from the shelter. As Joe says, it's too soon now, but you will know when the time is right to allow a new friend into your lives.
Luv,
Wolfen

Sorry to read about Bubba. Looking at the picture I can see that his name was a good fit. Our fur friends come into our lives and brighten then every day and they always end up leaving to early. Thank God we have the memories so they live on in our hearts forever.
I just happen to have a suggestion...........New house = new fur friend.
Enjoy the day

So very sorry for your loss
I am so sorry for your loss - what a beautiful creature - we too love dogs and I have had them since I was a kid - right now we have a 13 year old black lab german shepherd mix, all black lab looking, with the grey and white shown up now with age - she is a loyal companion and strangely as of late she had been jumping up on the couch next to me and sleeping on our bed - I think dogs know when someone does not feel well - and they migrate to them to lend them help and comfort - wanted to share that from one dog lover (best friend) to another -
Our first one was a mutt - he was the best, we had to have him put to sleep - we were able to bury him on our property where we live - I planted a tree over him, but it died, 3 months later the kids picked out our lab - turns out she was born the day after our first dog went down, when we let her out she would wonder around the property and then settle on the very spot that we buried our first dog - to this day 13 years later she still lays in that spot to greet me when I would come home from work - what beautiful creatures we are fortunate to share our lives with. Just wanted to share something so close to us here in remembrance of your loss

So sorry
It hurts to lose our precious pets. I lost my cat to cancer while I was going to chemo/rad this past august.

Hi Tracy
One of the hardest things I ever did in life was to put my Black Lab and best friend Nena to sleep because of cancer. She was almost 14 years old, I had so much fun with her in life and just can’t bring myself to get another Lab. My children dropped off their Pit Bull on me and now I am attached to her. She is now getting old and has been with me through all my treatment. I am not sure what I will do when it comes time for her as she too is getting very old.
God Bless

Our friend lost his wife to pancreatic cancer last January and now he has to put his dog down, Trixie has pancreatic cancer. Tom and his wife were married more than 50 years, Trixie has been by his side through all of this. She will be missed.
