latest scan
Well here we go. I had my follow up scan yesterday. The IL-2 is doing it's job! My tumors are stable or shrinking. What else can I ask for? Next scan is in 6 weeks. There was a time a couple years back when scans showed tumors everywhere. Now only down to a couple soft tissue mets and a couple bone mets. And they are little. I feel great. I'm painless. And I just finished a good workout. Life is good! Everyone who sees me finds it hard to believe that I'm stage 4 for short of 3 years now. Keep the faith everyone. We can do this.
nephrectomy 3/11......20ish tumors and much pain by late 2011......nivolumab trial (MDX-1106) for 18 months with excellent results except 2 or 3 new small growths which eliminated me from trial.....IL-2 treatments in July and Oct. ....no oral meds.....Zometa infusions for bones....

What great news, Fox!!! As I've been made aware, IL2 is truly nasty stuff; but it works. So glad to hear your results are truly marvelous.
Love from the other coast.

Wow, words can't explain how happy I was to read that. As a fellow MDX'er, it is good to see there is another fork in the road.
Quick question, were you on MDX only, or in combination with another drug?
keep blazing that trail!
DarronDarron, MDX only. I don't think they were doing combos back then.

Yeah!!!!!!
PS - I love Alexandra's post
I appreciate everyones support. I'll probably never see the cure but stable and no new growth is success. I care about getting fit and strong again. Then my lifestyle will remain just as it has been. I can do this for years to come. Alex, I don't think I'm a poster boy anymore. But I'll take it. Thanks. Love you. Soon I'll be entering the world of new treatments. I don't know what that will be. Sutent? votrient? cherry pick the tumors? My doctor wants to keep an eye on my progress. she doesn't see the need for any new intervention yet. I've been through enough. I don't mind waiting awhile. I am very interested in continued improvements without being on any new drugs. Is it a pipe dream? Don't care. I'll wait. 6 more weeks for the next scan.

Tillie, it's not that awesome. Good news for sure. Best news ever would be ALL of us doing well. Thanks.
Good to hear from you Kathy.
Someone asked me about my avatar. That was taken on the observation deck of the Mt. Washington observatory. We have ridden up Mt. Washington about a dozen times in the last 15 years. Fun ride. I know I'm due for a picture change but I don't have anything else. I also don't know how I did this one. I'm not nearly as savey as Alex with this computer. I was going to draw a picture and use a sticky. But I guess you guys wouldn't be able to see it if I stuck it on my computer. Tex never believed it when I told him of my limited computer talent. That is what happens when there are no teenagers in the house.

I wore my Kuwait shirt today when I went for my zometa infusion. Another woman had a Harley shirt and we talked about it. Then I showed her mine. She said it was the best one she has seen. I told her , "I know." I think she had a better day.

So very glad to start my day with your good news!

The IL-2 was tough but I think that I've had it easy. After expecting to have been dead a couple years ago, I am fortunate. No rhyme or reason why I got lucky. But I am thankful. I've too much to look forward too.
