A time to be thankful

I know it is hard sometimes to be dealing with our cancer, and looking for a silver lining in it all seems laughable.  But what are you thankful for this year?

I'll start.  I have been blessed with the most amazing people in my life (including all you ladies).  I am thankful for my talented doctors, but especially for the friends who took care of me and help prop me up when I was dealing with the darkness.

    I am Thankful for everyday

I am Thankful for everyday that I have had since the "C" word entered my life.  This site and all the ladies on here, past and present, thankful for all my family and friends that have been with me in spirit and by my side, my team of doctors, the hospital and the cancer clinic. I rejoice in the little things and do not sweat the big things.  I still have enough get up and go to continue working and thoughts of retirement are still in the future but getting closer.  I have my grandson, William, who is the heart of my life that I shower all my love on to make sure he will remember me when I am gone.  I do not worry about what ifs because if I leave this earth tomorrow in lots of different ways that I have no control over, what good would it do to worry about it.  Blessings and prayers to all the ladies and their family and friends for a bright and great Thanksgiving.  Trish in Texas

What a lovely topic - I am thankful for thoughtful and caring people like those on this site, for family, friends, pets, knowledgeable doctors, nurses, technicians and other staff, research folks, new technology/findings, and being ALIVE.  Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

    Hello Ladies:

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  I hope each and every one of you enjoys the day with your family and friends.

I also am very grateful to all my family and friends as they gave me so much support when I was diagnosed with cancer and they still pray for me and keep in close contact with me.  Also, to the people at my church who continue to pray for me and keep me in their thoughts and ask me how I am doing when they see me.

I will be spending my Thanksgiving with my husband and son and my close girlfriend and her family.

I am Very thankful for each and every day that I have since I have been diagnosed with cancer back in early 2011.  You learn to appreciate life more and cancer does change you.  I am also very thankful to my gynecologist who just recently retired and my oncologist and credit both of them with saving my life after having been diagnosed with cancer as I had surgery, chemo and radiation.

    Cheerful

    Joining a thankful community

Greetings, courageous women!  I don't post very often, but I frequently check to see how everyone is doing.  I join all of you in voicing my profound thanks for all the positives in my life.  Just being able to enjoy the taste of Thanksgiving meal was a gift!  Since my diagnosis 16 months ago, I have shared many of the ups and downs you have experienced.  My original diagnosis was endometrial cancer, Stage 3C, but I now have mets to the lung.  So many medical adventures, surgery, chemo (Carbo and Taxol) radiation (external beam and brachytherapy), a short stint on  Megace and more chemo (Doxil).  Despite what the surgeon called "garden variety endometrial cancer", I seem to be fighting a particularly agressive and treatment-resistant tumor.  Last week my oncologist charted a new course of treatment, and I started on Topotecan.  I feel good about the name of this drug.  It sounds like a magic spell, especially if you say it really fast.  I am expecting a good outcome on this one, and enjoying all the joys of my life in the meantime.  Thank you all for inspiring me to continue the fight!
