BEEN A WHILE
Hi Everyone especially my old Folfox buddies. It's been a while since I posted. I guess it was about a couple of weeks ago when I had another four month CT Scan to check out my everything but especially my liver. I had a RFA on my liver about 8 months a go and so far no return. HOWEVER this time my Oncolongist saw something on my liver a gray area not near the RFA site, So the doctor ordered a MRI which showed the same "spot" as the CT scan. I met with the doc and since my CEA was less than 1 he felt it wasn't cancer BUT he wanted to take it to the gaggle of other Oncologists for their opinion. Then I get the call bad news could be cancer!!!!!!!!! So they do an ultra sound to pin point what they need is a biopsy. The ultra sound shows the gray area and I have to wait a week sweating the outcome. I show up for the biospy in the hospital more pokes and IV's into a backless gown and am told I must stay at the hospital six hours:( hate hospitals just a little less than doctors. Anyway in I go for the biospy and the tech setting up the procedure can't find the gray area. She also couldn't find my gall bladder which I still have. Anyway in comes radiologist and he can find it either. It shows clearly on the week ago ulstra sound but not this one. Radiologist announces well I can't biopsy something that isn't there and says have a nice day. No explaination from anyone what it could have been. My chemo inducted Cirrhosis is apparently getting a little worst...not much the liver panel is just a point ot two higher. My gastrologist said three years ago that my liver should hold out for somewhere between 4-14 years as it slowly dies assuming no more cancer etc. That was three years ago. My oncologist knows it was his chemo and ignoring my symptoms put me on this path. Doctors never make mistakes not even an apology for in-effect killing his patient. Oh well next billing number please......always another cancer patient coming along....Cynicism I earned it. Well hope everyone is dong well. TakeCare Lou

Now what?
Do you go to a different facility to have another scan? Can the scan in either/or been faulty? You must be so anxious over this. I hope it all turns out well for you. Let us know how it all goes. I wish you the best!

Update
Thanks for the update as I've been thinking about you for some time. Hoping the grandchildren are doing well and you have enjoyed some time with them before going through all this crap once again. I'm sorry that you are having problems with your doctors. Wish you could seek another opinion from another source but realize that this can sometimes be impossible especially now that the whole insurance industry has been sent on a rollercoaster. Praying for you and wishing you the best outcome. Please let us know what is going on with the gray area and if they have a better explanation than just "nothing."

Hi Lou:
So good to hear from you even though your news isn't the most exciting by far. I hope soon enough you'll find out what is that gray area and have it taken care of. We need you here!
Take care!
