Sipping my nightly Miralax...

...and chuckling at the irony of it all!

i started the new (for me) carbo-Gemzar routine today.  So far so good, except my puppy Hugh Jackman is throwing up.  My 92-year old sweet Mom has diarrhea.  And my faithful husband is exhausted!!

but I'm good.  Feeling a little wiped out....God, I wonder why!?!

my ca125 was 143 this week, the biggest jump since the slow rise began in January.  I'm eager to see how well this is gonna work.

All in all, it's all good.

PS: My sweet husband bought and delivered Panera lunch for the whole infusion center staff today!  They love him! Haha!

    Good evening Merrily

Sounds like Carbo-Gemzar is gentle on you so far. That's good news. Hopefully this combo will push CA125 down.

And you are so lucky to have a sweet, thoughtful, generous, lovable and faithful husband.

Did your mom try Immodium? Scared of tattoo pain I OD'd today on oxicodone and Ativan and now I am throwing up too. Just like poor curly Hugh Jackson, only not as cute.

    Lotsa' luv,

    Alexandra

    Hmmm....

Oxycodone sounds a little much for skin pain, but that tat covers a lot of area!  Aspirin is actually good for skin pain, but at this point, don't put anything more in your body but water.  Water only.  Try putting a towel in the freezer  for a couple hours and then apply to your belly.  I'm so sorry you're going thru this!

    To each her own!

Coffee and me just don't agree! In fact, if I wanted to gag and throw up, coffee would be my sure-bet!  I am so grateful Miralax goes with ANY liquid! Truly a friend to the Teal Sisterhood!

    coffee

When I was going through treatment, coffee would make me throw up too... even the smell... and I really like coffee.  A couple of months after treatment, I was able to enjoy it again.  Just a cup or two, not too much.

I could use a sweet hubby too!

If the cloning works, please send one to me too. I already have the dog so I'm good in that arena. Don't have the mom anymore either...sigh...just 2 20 something children who are wonderful but in their own worlds (as they should be).

Good luck with the chemo and hope it goes easy on you!

    Hi Merrily

Miralax was one of my best friends when I was having chemo.  I still keep it in the cabinet, just in case.  I'm so sorry that your cutie pie Hugh Jackman and your beloved mom are suffering.  Boy, when it rains, it pours.  I call my hubby Saint Michael and I'm sure your husband qualifies for sainthood too.  We are very lucky to have them.

Praying that the new chemo cocktail kicks your cancer's butt!  I'm rooting for you and my other teal sisters from the sidelines!

So glad it is not only me!!!

I laughed out loud when I read this.  For some reason I  guess I thought I was the only one that did this!  It is so easy and you can't taste a thing!  I keep a big bottle in a cabinet above the coffee maker where I keep the coffee and sweetner.  My husband just says to not get the cups mixed up when I fix coffee for both of us!  I affectionately call it "Miracle Powder"

My husband calls my coffee with mirlax, value added.  We did mix up cups one morning, he was not a happy camper.  Since then, we make sure we have different looking mugs.  Mine and yours-- no sharing.

    Haha!

Oh, my husband would not be pleased, either!

Becase I really cannot stand even the smell of coffee, I have a couple mugs that are just mine...no coffee cooties allowed!  We have lots of other mugs for the coffee drinkers.  My son-in-law is lucky I let him marry my daughter after he poured his Starbucks into one of MY mugs!
