Woo Hoo!
Well I had another PET scan on Friday because my new onc wasn't happy with the MRI and wanted to make sure I was really in remission. MRI showed old stuff in liver that my "old" onc thought was nothing. He said some residual scarring would always be there. However, I was glad to get the PET to make sure.
Guess what? I am in remission. PET shows no abnormal FDG activity: "Particularly, no abnromal activity seen throughout hepatic parenchyma (liver) or the osseous structures (bone)." Still a bit of pleural effusion (excessive fluid around lung) on right.
Impression: "negative for recurrent or metastatic disease."
I do not know why I keep responding unexpectedly well, but I am thankful for every day. I understand cancer patients like me are labelled "outliers", because we unexpectedly go long past what was expected. I do not know why I keep responding so well but I honor and celebrate every day in memory of those who can not.
But now, who wants to party? I love and appreciate all the support I have found here and just had to share the happy news.

I asked about your pet on Disney World thread
do not worry lets toast for good results I am scheduled for pet in December
i have another question about your experience with bones and broken ribs: do you feel them even when they are healed and sclerotic?
I do mine which makes me wonder.

My ribs still hurt off and on and it always makes me nervous too. My onc said sclerotic ribs can cause pain and may bother me off and on for the rest of my life. I have noticed that my rib pain is worse at night and I sometimes have to take something mild for pain. However, the pain has not been as bad as before I was diagnosed and ended up in the ER. And my rib scans have looked good for some time now. Hope this helps!
