Update on Dr. Visits
Thank you all for asking about my doctor visits. I decided to wait to post until I had my visit with my oncologist yesterday. Drum roll. . . . . I am happy to report that I am doing the Happy Dance with NED! Yeah. My surgeon was pleased with my first mammogram since surgery - no suspicious findings!!!!! She said I passed and to come back for another mammo in six months. Then yesterday I had my followup with my oncologist. We disccussed my issues I'm experiencing on Tamoxifen--leg cramps, hot flashes, discharge, bruising etc. I asked if my fatigue was due to radiation or Tamoxifen. She thought I should be feeling better by now, but when she looked at the blood work they did yesterday she said well the reason you are tired is you're anemic. We will work on getting that corrected by giving me pre-natal vitamins. Imagine that!!!!
One thing I thought was very interesting was that may anemia is caused from the radiation. Has anyone ever had this and how long after taking an iron supplement, did your energy return? I am hoping soon--I have a business trip next week in Anaheim-- and I'm a little worried I will be exhausted working our convention for 6 days for 12-14 hours a day. Today, just packing our trunks, wore me out. Any suggestions out there on ways to conserve energy when working these hours?
I am most thankful for all of the support I have received here on this forum since my diagnosis in March 2013. I am looking forward to getting past my one year mark since diagnosis next March.
