Mags - Sounds like you got some good advice. Sorry I'm late to the thread but it might help others. I usually drink a gallon of prep, the brand differs depending on what my HMO wants to use. They say to keep the prep cold as it's easier to shallow. Note to Oxaliplatin users-don't refigerate! Anyway, I also make up some lemonade and take a large swallow of prep, followed by a sip of lemonade. I can only get about 1/2 to 3/4 down before I'm so bloated I have to stop. Never thought about GasEx, might help that. Anyway, a couple of hours later I try to finish up the prep.
I'm new here. Never had the nerve to say anything, just lurk around. Just want to say on the awful liquid prep stuff, it wouldn't stay down much at all for me, so for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th colonoscopies, I used the humungous pills. I take a bunch of them about every half hour or something like that and cut them in half to get them down. They actually stay down though. With my work insurance, a prescription of the pills costs me $40.

What are they? Are they a laxative? Might be a good alternative to the salted water. Traci
