a request
I have a dear friend that is fighting breast cancer. She has had the surgery, double masectomy, and has had her first chemo treatment, radiation will follow.
She is looking for scarves for when she loses her hair, the Drs have told her it will happen. They are one of the Americans with no insurance and just keeping up with bills, etc is taking a toll. I wonder if anyone on here, may have scarfs they no longer need and are willing to sell or donate. If so, please pm me .
Thanks

Would regular sized neck
Would regular sized neck scarves work? I am a scarf-a-holic(at least that is what my husband says...). Even more so since I have the scar on my neck from surgery. I could stand to purge a little though:) If you think they'd work just private message me your address & I will send some your way!

and that wasn't the only one. There were many....here's another one.

I have been researching scarves, hats this afternoon..the trouble is (Phrannie ) Susan refuses to spend the money on herself. She says she's thinking of going "the bald is beautiful" route. I know her and with our cold Ohio weather, that's just silly.
According to what I looked at, the scarf needs to be at the least 60" by 13", to allow for wrapping.
Meagan, if you have any this size or close, I will gladly pay you for them. Thanks so much for the offer

Address
Please pm me your address. We thought I might lose hair with cancer #3, my sister bought me a sleeping cap and a newsboy cap from a cancer site. Also, at the treatment centers, both radiation and chemo they had new and lightly used hats and scarves, she might check where she is getting treatment. She should qualify for a free wig through the ACS.

passing it forward
Gx4,
No matter the dx we stand as a whole ! I would be happy to send a few also. Please pm your address again. Also just to repeat....most cancer centers have scarves and or wigs for anyone that needs them. I can also maybe get my hands on a couple of really cute wigs. Mom never used them....only hats. Thank you for the opportunity to pass this forward for another warrior ! Hugs sent ! Katie

One other thing to think about.....
Paula Young company has very very reasonably priced wigs. Several friends of mine have gotten them to get thru their various cancer treatments. You can get them for around $40.
www.paulayoung.com
also, I crochet scarves and shawls as therapy for my hands. I will make you one for her that is the size you stated above. Give me about a week.

Hugs to you~~
Yesterday, I delivered the scarves donated by Ingrid and MeaganB, to my friend Susan. She was overjoyed~~she is having her 2nd chemo today and is wearing one for it..it's cold here in Ohio, so they will see much use, and her hair is gone.
Ingrid, took her time to knit Susan a scarf that's also a hat, it is beautiful, in fact, I loved it so much, I ordered one for myself.
Thank you both so much ,God will bless you
