squamous cell carcinoma -penile cancer

these last few months have been a blur, happening so fast... this type of cancer was found to be attacking my urethral opening... biopsy confirmed scc... local lymph nodes have been palpable on left side... seems like within days i find myself in hospital and having a partial penectomy... have been in antibiotics before and since surgery four days ago... i have yet to find much online for support and sharing about this rare cancer... healing at this time after "losing" a good part of "me"... not sure what is my future with this... have been single for about 12 years and had hoped for a new best friend and heartmate... not sure now what happens... i am near 68 years old and living in northeast oklahoma... anyone who might comment or suggest to me anything is appreciated... this all came about and happened so fast, but the urologist/surgeon was focused on getting the cancer (scc) out of me a.s.a.p.

appreciate comments... thx!

Yeah, it's a rare one.  My doctor said he hadn't seen one in fifteen years.  I had a radical penectomy two years ago, they got all of the cancer, no radiation or chemo.  I had one opinion from a cancer center to remove a lymph 'just in case'.  I refused and have had clean CT Scans since the operation.

It was about three months to the day of the surgery that I awoke one night with a wide smile on my face after I had a noctural orgasm which was a nice surprise to say the least.

When I was diagnosed and the surgery was recommended to me, I did feel very calm and accepting.  No denial, fear, just an incredible peace.

Feel free to write and discuss more if you wish.  Good luck to you my friend.
