Winning The Fight against cervival cancer - survivors story

I hope this story helps someone!

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in July 2011; I had 12 rounds of chemo, 25 days of radiation and 6 internal radiation treatments.  In Jan 2012 a pet scan revealed that it had metastized to lymphnodes in my chest - drs at md anderson said they could control it not cure it - they gave me less than a year to live!  As a mom of two boys - I could not accept this!

I started another chemo regimen and had 18 rounds before another pet scan which revealed the chemo wasn't working!

My dr in kc missouri had a former student at national institute of health in maryland - he had just been given approval for a cervical cancer clinical trial - I was only the second person to sign up so they couldn't give me any guarantees - as a mom my only option was to fight!!

The treatment worked!!!!!  For the last 11 months my scans have been clean and I have not had any additional treatment since August!   Feel great - energy back and enjoying being a mom!!!!!

They do amazing things at nih - because they are govt funded - they can't advertise - word of mouth!  I would gladly talk to anyone out there struggling pr looking for other options - this trial works - I am living proof

Please feel free to contact me for more info on how to win the fight!!!!

God Bless

Aricca

37 yeaar old mother of 2 boys in Kansas

    immunotherapy treatment

    Thank you!

They removed a tumor and my white blood cells and grew them in the lab - training my white blood cells against t cell receptors - then put it back in my body.  My white blood cells recognized the diseaae as a foreign virus and started attacking it with my Iimmune system!   This is the simplest way to explain it - absolutely amazing stuff! !!  I do not have any other treatment and if anything comes back - my body will know to fight it off - just like any other virus you get

They are amazing at nih - I highly recommend people looking into all treatment options there for all diseases!

    Thanks

Dear aricaa can u please let

Dear aricaa can u please let me know the exact name of your treatment that u received at nih? Is it dendritic cell therapy? There are various immunotherapies that match your description.

Would really appreciate the exact name of the treatment you received. My mother has the exact same history as yours and also suffers now from metastasis just like you did to her lymph nodes.

    Thank you so much!
