I am so pissed off at Cancer right now
Yesterday my 8th grader came home fron school and told me that the principal talked to the 7th and 8th graders to tell them that one of their fellow classmates had been diagnosed with a serious illness. We also got an email from the school telling us about it and it had a link to fundraiser announcements for the family. I am not sure what type of cancer he has but he will have 10 chemo treatments, surgery to remove the tumor and then 14 more chemo treatments.
It is bad enough that adults have to endure chemo but NO child should ever have to go through that ever. My heart aches for the family and for that poor boy.
I am at a loss for words right now

Me too!
I had it easy compare to what this child will endure. Please know that lots of prayers and good wishes for this boy and his family are coming from California!

community support
Wow! What a good example of community support! So, glad they are stepping up. So sorry the young boy has to go through all the treatments for his cancer. But, hopefully his outcome will be fantastic!

It also helps me put my life into perspective. Best wishes to this child and his family. What wonderful support they are getting.

My oncology doctor just changed from being exclusively gyno to treating all types of cancers including children's. It isn't likely however since there is a wonderful children's hospital in the area.I could not sit and get my chemo sitting across from a child getting treatment I would be crying hysterically the whole time. The families of these children have such an unimaginable strength !

Hi was reading this post as we wait for wifes surgery next week. We went out for lunch last week and there was a collection tin for a young girl of 12 with ovarian cancer. She had lost her father to cancer 4 months ago. While we were devestated with the wife (Beth's) ovarian we felt that at 57 she had been able to raise a family and travel we couldnt comprehend the young girls feelings and stress. On the up side after 3 treatments of carbo/taxol debaulking surgery is planned for next week at a specialist hospital. We are then to have another 3 treatments and hopfully we will be free of this incideous disease. I say we as I cannot understand how anyone can do this without family support.

I hate cancer, too
It breaks my heart whenever I hear of children having to endure this and I can't even imagine what their parents are going through. We heard of two more friends being diagnosed with seperate cancers last week and two more are going for biopsies......... Cancer Sucks ( can I say that?)
((((HUGS)))) Maria
