Mom's Petscan is today
Hi Everyone,
I'm just trying to get mom some good vibes today. She's having her Petscan as we speak while I am home with Vertigo. I'm as nervous as a cat so I can't imagine how she is feeling.
Just needed to verbalize this.
I hope everyone is hanging on there.
Just wanted to say that it's mom's 72nd Birthday today and I am so grateful for her being here.
Huggies,
Nellie

Spoke withThanks Everone,
Spoke with the oncologist yesterday and the Petscan results are in. There is a slight improvement, enough so that he will try to tweak her Chemotherapy treatment so that she can hopefully get some relief from the mouth sores and overall weakness. Her CEA makers went from 1300 (back in April) to 30 today.
I'm extremely grateful, even though this has been a rough road, I feel if we just keep plugging along things will turn the corner for her.
Huggies,
Nellie

I've read that chemo dosages can be reduced by a certain % without having too much impact on outcomes, and it does help with th side effects. Hopefully this will be done in her case. I can't remember if I mentioned this to you already or not...has she ever talked to her doc about adding something like Adderall to the mix? It's being used quite a bit now for fatigue in cancer patients, and is pretty effective. Might be worth a try to alleviate some of the weakness she's experiencing.
Hugs coming to both of you~AA

Yes, it sure can be a bumpy ride.!! But it is doable. To get to NED is worth the trip. Good luck to her and you!!
