Please offer your strength
Dear Friends, I found this site when I was diagnosed with a rectal tumor and it has been a lifeline to many thru the years.
As some of you may know, I have been trying to help my sister who was diagnosed with stage 4 endometrial cancer last October...mets to lungs. I have been going to doc appointments, chemo treatments, helping with the maze of financial issues.
She has been complaining of leg pain for several months...been to several doctors and had innumerable tests, all diagnosed it as muscular. Today a trip to ER because of the level of the pain and the fact that she can barely walk. The news is not good. They have discovered mets now in the leg and pelvic bone. They admitted her primarily for pain management...she is getting morphine every 2 hrs. The onc will stop in tomorrow, but I am not hopeful. While radiation may shrink the tumors to relieve the pain, the fast spread makes me fear it will soon pop up elsewhere. We were never given any hope other than extending life and quality of life.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send strenght to our 89 yr old parents who have come to be with her.
Thanks,
Marie who loves kitties

Oh Marie, I am so sorry.
I don't even know what to say. I hope they can help her to be comfortable, and that the doctor can come up with a plan that will give you all more time together. I lost my sister to this horrible disease, it's just wretched and unfair. And so hard on our parents. It just makes my heart hurt for all of you.
Hugs and strength coming your way~AA

My thoughts and prayers for your Sister and family.
Just so sorry to hear this news. Why, why did it take them so long to discover this? That part makes me almost as angry as the Cancer itself. I feel the sadness of your parents. Please know I'm sending positive energy & best of vibes your way.
Luv,

Stay Strong!
We are sending our Love, Prayers and Thoughts to your sister and to your family Marie! Your sister has a difficult journey, but not imposible.
Keep up your strength and be a good example. My best advice is to let her know how many are praying for her, sending her good thoughts, and in her corner. Tell her to exercise, eat well, and stay hydrated. Those three things will eat away at one when neglected. My neighbor let himself get down to 120lbs, until I yelled at him. I tiold him I do not care what your doctor told you, if you do not eat you are not going to last long. He changed Doctors, and the next doctor told him to eat anyting you want as long as you start putting on weight. Attitude will give her the strength she needs to keep up the good fight!
My wife Laurie has stage IV Endo, and that is what had prepared us for my battle with cancer. We learned how to research treatments, and how to tell if a Doctor was good or great. Endo puts her at a 35% risk for future cancer.
Best Always, mike

Dear Wolfen,
From what I have read tonight and what the ER doctor said, this is very rare for endometrial cancer.
It is presumed by the scientists that when some of the original cancer gets out into the lymph nodes it can migrate to the bone marrow, where it can stay dormant for some time...even years.
The ER doctor said that it remains so small as to not necessarily be detected, and then it flares and grows quickly. As with all cancer, there are not many real answers...just observations.
Thank you for your energy and concern.

Thank you all
I thank you all for your outpouring of support. It means everything to be able to share things with you all and know that you understand it all, not just the surface stuff.
I hope to either see or talk with her oncologist today to find out what to expect and where we go from here.
May each blessing and wish for strenght which you have given be returned to you 1,000 fold.
