scan results tomorrow
Having a little trouble falling to sleep tonight with my scan results pending until tomorrow.
I know you all understand the waiting. Praying all is clear. If so,I will be two years out. While I was going through treatment I told myself that I would have a blue stripe put in my hair if I could make it. Perhaps it was the drugs or just will be my personal badge of courage. It will be completely out of the norm for me. I don't think my family really thinks I will do it. Anyone else have an urge?

Hi there!
I hope you managed to nod off. Good wishes for your scan results & on being 2 years out from treatment.
I hadn't thought about a badge of courage, although I know some have tatoos (not the dots) to mark the event. I'm still trying to get my hair style & colour back to pre treatment mode. I didn't lose much hair, if any, but had it cut really short to lessen the effort during treatment. Going to the salon today, so maybe today is the day haha.
So, again, hoping for good results so you can proceed with your blue stripe plan.
Let us know how you got on

I hope you will be getting great news today, but I can certainly understand your restlessness. This waiting for results stuff is hard!
I am not into doing things to my hair, my body, or whatever to mark my survivor status, but many others get a tattoo or wear special jewelry, etc. I just don't wish to be temporarily or permanently branded as a cancer survivor. I'd really prefer to forget the whole thing, but as we all know, that's pretty much impossible. I even had to quit wearing my yellow Livestrong wristband, as it was too much of a reminder for me. But to each his own and if you want to have a blue stripe put in your hair, I say go for it!
Wishing you NED results!

Congrats!!!!cap630 said:Scan - NED
That your for your comforting replies. Scan came back NED. Yeah!
Congrats on hitting the two-year mark NED! That is a great milestone. I personally would prefer a nice dinner our or another trip to Culebra, but if a blue stripe in your hair is YOUR thing, GO FOR IT! Whatever makes you happy!

I am doing my checkup next month after 3 years. Think of me. I am still scared and hope all will be good.
You will be in my thoughts. I am 9 months post treatment, & can relate to the pre scan anxiety. I think someone called it scanxiety. Seems apt! Meanwhile, just rake it day by day & try to not attach any weight to your thoughts. That's all they are, not facts. Let us know how you get on.
