New here, HI! Very Strange side effects with Chemo.
I had a 2 cm tumor in my right breast with 2/8 lymph node envovlement. Scheduled right away for chemo Taxatere and cytoxane. On my first infusion I had terrigle paid throughout my body and ended up with a raging ITU which I blamed the pain on that. Never went away but went to my second infusion, and man was the paid unbearable (expecially after the neulasta shot). My onc couldn't really expain what was going on but treated me with pain meds and Cymbalta.
After the third infustion all hell broke loose, during infusion, I started to get really warm, my blood pressure was 168 and I kind of went into la la land. They pumped me full with benydryll and steroids. When I got home I was in so much pain I could not even stand it. I went to the Emergency Room and they admitted me. I was there for 5 days just to get some sort of pain control. Actually feeling very weak, but the pain is mostly under control.
Doctor suggestion, I am allergic or have a severe reation to Chemo. He is discontinuing my 4th chemo. This really scares me.
Has anyone had anything like this or similar? I am in a real funk over this.
Thanks for all your help!
MJ

I was on Taxotere and
I was on Taxotere and Cytoxin. I did not have your specific symptoms, but had my own nasty list. These and all chemo drugs can give nasty side effects and reactions. I'm glad your onco stopped your treatments.
He may decide to try other chemo drugs and may not. Either way, DO NOT hold back on letting him know of any reactions or strange feelings. He will be watching closely but can't respond to what he doesn't know. A small problem may be a precursor to a larger problem. TELL ALL. Don't hold back.
Take care. Rest and be good to yourself. Spoil yourself and let others spoil you, too.
You are in my prayers now and I'm calling in God and all His angels to watch over you and protect you.
Love and hugs,
Sandy

Thank you, Sandy, for showing such kindness and support. I really need that at this time.
My onc said absolutely no more chemo as they all have components that are similar and that I would probably have the same reaction. I am still on pain medication, but not as much, so I think I might be getting a little better. They are also unable to give me the nuelasta shots and my white count is 1000 the last time they checked
Sandy, the one thing that I am terrified about that no one understands is what if it comes back? I had to cut my chemo short, which is not good and if it comes back and I am unable to have chemo, what then?
Thanks for listening.....

I know that it's scary. We all have a chance bc will come back. If yours should there is always radiation, and by that time there could be many new drugs that will be kinder to our systems.
Also, before it has a chance to come back, you could: 1. get struck by lightening, 2. be abducted by aliens, 3. be over run by squirrels.
Now, don't you feel better? None of these things have happened to you.
Try to relax and listen to good quiet music or watch a funny movie. Get your mind otherwise occuppied.
Love and hugs.

Dear Sandy,
Your reply was so funny to me. I love the abducted by aliens comment. Yes we can all get BC again but then so can all the other women out there on the street. At least we are getting regular scans, cancer markers etc. I think we should all remember that none of us know for sure that chemo or radiation cured us. Also drugs like Tamoxifen play a huge part in treatment.
Keep giving us your great advice!'
