CEA/ PET
Hi all,
Saw onc this morning. My CEA has been rising. Today, 5.6. Plus, abdominal pain has been increasing. Will have PET scan on Friday. Prayers and good thoughts welcome.
I have not been through half as much as most of you have....

Prayers....
Cathleen,
Hopefully the CEA went up some because of something else. So many things can make it go up a bit. Many, many prayers for your upcoming scan. Be sure to come back and let us know.

Praying for good results on the PET scan and that CEA will soon drop.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry thatOh dear, I'm so sorry that you're in pain... Did you ask your doctor for some stronger pain meds? Remember, if you ever need some help, I'm not that far north of you - so please send me a note if you need anything, ok?
Hugs,
Cynthia

I know how hard it is not to
I know how hard it is not to worry about this ... but try to remember that it is damaging to you to do so. Try to keep your mind and body occupied. Maybe taking a walk, doing some early holiday shopping or going out with some friends.
I am sorry to hear of your pain ... I have found keeping active helps.
My best to you and wishing you the best for your scan. Glad your doctor is on top of things though!

I have been in that exact same spot,
and it is so stressful. I second what Cyn said about pain meds...I would at least want to not have to deal with too much pain on top of the anxiety. I'll be thinking of you this Friday, hoping very much that the results will be good.
Hugs and strength coming your way~AA

Do you have any Ativan or Xanax handy? I almost always end up taking a few in the days leading up to a scan (and while waiting for results)...anti-anxiety meds can be very useful to get through a tough stretch (I find they help esp with getting to sleep, otherwise I'd be up all night).

Thank you, one and all. How wonderful to come home from work to such supportive messages and with such experienced advice. I haven't taken any pain med or anything ...it may be time to stop being so resistant to drugs. Not even sure why I am resistant. I am hoping the pain is adhesions but that doesn't explain my CEA. We'll see.
On a good note, I have an incredibly supportive work environment. My job involves a lot of travel and I am suppose to travel this weekend. Today, my boss said to me. " You are more important to us then the work you do. I will cover this weekend. Stay home and rest."
Thanks for being such a great community of friends who 'get it'.
Hugs,
CM
