Hello Dear Ones - checking in
Hi Loves... I haven't been here in awhile and I wanted to read through posts to see how everyone was doing. Sorry I've been absent for awhile, but been real busy with chemo treatments, granddaughters and a new puppy! I must be crazy, but this little (quickly getting larger!), ball of fur has made me very happy.
For those of you that don't know me, I was diagnosed in May 2006, 3c and went thru the surgery and chemo and stayed NED for 3 years. I had a recurrance and have been on chemo for the last 4 years. I know how scary that must sound, but my disease is being treated as cronic and I remain stable. It's a new normal way of life for me. I'm given cisplatin w/gemzar one week and gemzar the next and then I have 2 to 3 weeks off. I plan my vacations and activities around the weeks I know I'll feel strong. My friends and family say things like " Does that date fall into a chemo or non-chemo week? "

hi Maria
There's nothing quite as much fun (or work) as a new puppy! I'm so glad you are enjoying the experience. I have 2 dogs and love that more than just having the one. They play together all the time and the younger helps the older one stay young!
Wishing you all the best,
Susan

Thanks so much for checking in. You are living proof that it is possible to have a fullfilling life while living with cancer. Grandbabies and puppies are a good combination and so good for the soul!
Take good care,
