Has anyone heard of a very rare condition called Reactive Mesenteritis which can be a side effect of lymphoma?

    SIDE EFFECT

Never heard of it. What are the symtoms of the side effect? I looked it up and saw it had something to do with the colon or intestine and was benign, but it did not give any symtoms. Do you know of anyone that has been diagnosed with this?...John

Apparently my lymph nodes are, to quote the radiologist, "resolved". My spleen is back to normal size and my liver now enlarged by only one CM. However my mesentary attaching the small intestine is still a mess with fat necrosis, vessel clumping and stranding of the membrane. The radiologist recommended I be tested for Reactive Mesentaritis, which would require a biopsy. This is not cancer but it can grow and spread like a tumor. It is very rare and is listed as one of the "silent killer" diseases. I think its kinda like inflamed scar tissue which I know I have a lot of. From what i can tell it is treated with high doses of prednisone. I have to decide if I want to allow another biopsy. I am leaning towards no.

    Biopsy or not !!!

    GKH,

I think my first response would be the same as yours. I would probably change my mind after thinking about it for a while. John
