    Moderately good news

    Breast biopsy results came in minutes before DR's appointment, not yet reviewed by the surgeon.

    "Ductal hyperplasia, dense stromal fibrosis, scattered foci of intraductal proliferation with cytologic atypia. Rare calcifications seen is benign ducts"

    I don't know WTF it means, but the DR said "it's not normal, but it's not breast cancer". She made a sad puppy face when I told her about ovarian recurrence. And advised against prophylactic mastectomy. See ya in 6 months. I get to keep my bruised up DD's. And I'm still eligible for OVCA trial, if I can get into one. Yay! Drinking to that.

    CT scan and CA125 tomorrow. Another day another Canadian taxpayers' dollar wasted on my medical care.

    glad to hear it's not breast cancer...

    and that you will be eligible for a parp trial....that's good news to me. I wonder why the Breast surgeon advised against mastectomy?

    What do you and/or your gyn/onc have to do to get you into a trial? I have my fingers crossed for that.

    I was lying about DD's because of the guys from other boards coming here, they are C's at best.

    From the day I met this breast doctor over a year ago (after my BRCA1+ status was discovered), she was against prophylactic mastectomy. She was also against high-risk surveillance (mammo, MRI) but I insisted on it. Her mantra was always "women with ovarian cancer don't die of breast cancer" and "your estimated lifespan does not justify BMX". Today I asked again and she repeated the same thing. Maybe I should take my business to another doctor. And this depressing **** can estimate her own **** lifespan.

    As far as trial, they offered me phase 2 Incyte IDO Inhibitor INCB024360 vs Tamoxifen or 4-6 rounds of Carboplatin then phase 3 PARP Inhibitors Olaparib or Niraparib vs. placebo for maintenance. What I want is single agent Olaparib (the trial Shawnna is in) without any chemo but they don't have it in Canada.

    I will know more after I see the DR again on Oct. 7.

    Is not letting all your info sink in.  just let me say I am happy for your good news and praying for all the other.  I am so tired and angry about all the crap we all have to deal with.  I don't usually get angry about it but when I read all of the posts here and on Facebook and it's all about how we all just want to live.  I have no patience for people who complain about petty things when we are just trying to stay alive.  I'll get off my soapbox now.

Сегодня , когда я узнала что рак вернулся, что CA125 растет, мне стало так больно за вас ,такую молодую , за себя, еще не совсем старую; обидно до слез,  почему нам дано так много боли моральной и физической?  Почему мы не в той части населения , которых рак не коснулся.  Просто хочется очень хорошо поплакать , что бы сбросить эту боль . но почему то не получается.  Сашенька,  я очень рада за вас , что рак груди не обнаружен, что у вас будет возможность попасть на траял.  Я надеюсь, что это даст возможность отвоевать больше  времени для жизни у этого монстра.  Я вас просто обожаю!  Спасибо, что вы помогаете многим женщинам своими знаниями, опытом и юмором.  Спасибо за доброе сердце!  Дай Бог вам хорошего самочувствя и сил на вашем жизненном пути !     Congratulations re the breast news.  At least you don't have to fight on 2 fronts.  C's are lovely.  I have DD's and size is vastly overrated.  I get so frustrated with altering patterns when I sew and knit for myself.

    I hope your spirits are a little better with the light of day.  You are worth every dollar the system spends on you.  You are a young woman with every right to live a long life.  Get your dukes up and keep fighting.  You have a whole team of us behind you, Alexandra.

    Oh Alexandra!  I haven't been on the board lately and the first thing I read was about your ordeal. It made me cry!  You are the funniest and most supportive person on this board and the glue that holds us all together.  I am so glad to hear it isn't breast cancer.  I am also glad you don't really have DD because I was very envious that you get all that cuteness and huge boobs as well! Stay strong and keep fighting. We will all be here for you as you are always here for us. can't imagine this board without you knowledge and humor. Keep us posted as you learn more. You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

    Maybe it's me, looking for a fight, but I don't like your breast dr. attitude at all!  Thats like saying, "Don't worry about breast cancer dear, the Ovarian is goning to kill you long before the the boobs do"!  That's really insulting!  I'd find a new, young, good looking, sympathic,male dr. who wants to make you happy{and healthy}!  You are a Canadian National Treasure....damn the expence.
