Hand holding available totally fee of charge, my dear!maglets said:dearest AA
oh AA that is such a great story! you had me smiling....but then when I came back and read the addenda.....oh joy I am so so very happy for you. Is it not a miracle?? good for you......well done girl
can you please hold my hand on Tuesday of next week? scan for me and yes there is nothing I hate more!!!! As I look at my own behaviour over the last week I see creeping scanxiety....more and more grumpy irrational behaviour. Everthing is a threat!!!! what do mean the washing machine is not working!!!1f@$# and on and on
I digress....hold my hand .....dancing around with your family ....that's what you are doing....I hope...
hug.......mags
I was a grumpy wreck myself this last week (probably not the best time to try and cut back on my pain pills, in retrospect). In fact, I highly recommend the use of all available reality-blurring substances in the week prior to scanning, whatever your preference may be (personally I like my Ativan washed down with a really cold Martini*).
*KIDDING says Junkie Girl.
I'm putting you on my calendar for Tuesday. Very good thoughts coming your way that day.

Ha! That's a good one!Trubrit said:…ok, so the scanning room is
…ok, so the scanning room is really in the bowels of this place,
Glad they took you through the bowels, I mean, very fitting considering your diagnosis.
So happy to hear you are still NED. Keep it up!
I am totally not above going for the cheap pun, but I have to admit that I didn't catch that one. Something sub-conscious going on there I guess. "Bowels" is actually kind of a creepy word. Makes me think of dungeons and the like.

Decades...wow.
That is not something I would have ever dreamed possible a couple of years ago.
Now, maybe so. At least I can certainly have hope!
And hugs back at you, dear lady.

That's great, Ann. Wonderful news. You're family must be very relieved. Happy for you guys.
Congratulations
It means a lot to me that you would take the time to comment.
I so wish that you still had your Steve. Life is just random and unfair.

Ugh, that is way too long to wait.traci43 said:OMG - too funny
My HMO does the same thing, only their trailer looks more like a semi container with 2 pushouts. I guess you're so radioactive they don't even want you in the building! The part I don't like is it's really difficult to get a copy of your scan. I just had my scan done on Tuesday and I won't hear the results until next Thursday. I hate waiting too.
Congrats on remaining NED! Awesome news.
Isn't there any way they can speed it up? They give me an info sheet after the scan that says the docs will have the results within 72 hours, and to call if you haven't heard back by then. It's been a lot faster for me, usually I hear the same day, or no later than the next. So clearly even with a sub-contractor it can be done. When they make a cancer patient wait a week+ for results, they are really not looking out for our best interests.

I just got a call back on my mammo...ugh...probably nothing but if anyone has an extra hand or prayers or positive thoughts...way too much going on. Many extra positive thoughts and (kind of heathenish) prayers coming your way.
PS I've had a couple of "call-backs" on mammos...never turned out to be anything, so I'm hoping it will be the same for you.

This is my second call back...was just hoping we'd get an "all is good" and not have to think of it again for a year!0 -

That is sooooooooo AWESOME. You deserve it. Go celebrate with your family.
If by "celebrate", you mean collapse in an anxiety-exhausted heap, and be asleep by 9:00, why, that's exactly what I did!
Sheesh, these comments are really out of order! Oh well, you guys can get a little brain exercise figuring out what goes where.

In this globally networked day and age, 24-31 hours should be the normal limit for reports (next day by 5 pm). After that, I cause trouble.
We always get a CD with the report. What is annoying, is that some image integrated hospitals are starting to discontinue prints as standard and charge extra, legacy heirloom prices for the portraits, er, prints. In our case, on top of a 30+% premium for the hospital name, over our usual hospital with a 128 slice CT.

Just Great
NED is GREAT!!!
And I totally understand scan-anxiety. Had my scans last week, still NED too. I get most nervous when the machine says, "small breath, and hold it,,,,,,,, and breath". I am afraid I will expolde. What a mess that would make on a mulit-million dollar machine.

In a strange way, I'm kind of glad to hear that I'm not the only one can't keep things straight. I'm constantly getting appointments wrong and losing stuff. My charming husband pointed out to me last week that I'm "not as smart" as I used to be.
Gee thanks, sweetie. It's amazing what multiple surgeries, chemos, and a ton of pain pills will do to a gal's mental acuity.
Anyway, you are rescheduled! And I am confident that all will be well.

So good to see you here!
CSN folks, sky123 is Skypup from The Colon Club, and a most excellent member of our exclusive gang.
I hope you stick around and visit for a while. I know how it is, it's hard to find time to really take part in more than one forum, but it would be great to see more of you here. You could add your doggy avatar, Skypup...that one's a cutie!
