unscheduled visit tomorrow
Just to recap my last biopsies in the OR were back in June, they showed that my tumor was now microinvasive, I opted to hold off treatment and saw doc every few weeks since, however in August after a good checkup with scope she said she would see me in Nov, I called yesterday since I have been having symptoms again since last Wednesday (pain, itching, bleeding, etc...) they told me to come in tomorrow, I'm hoping maybe just irratation/scar tissue ?

I am out of treatment 5 years and yet just a few weeks ago had a bout of terrible itching and just an overall heightened awareness of my anal area. I would describe it as pain and there was no bleeding, but it was still concerning. I have since seen my colorectal doc for a regularly scheduled follow-up and everything was fine. The itching subsided and now all seems to be back to normal. I hope that will be the case for you too. Please let us know how your appt. goes.

Thanks All
Thank you all for the kind words, prayers and support. Nothing earthshattering to report, doc did an exam and said it may be inflamation (I've been told that before but usually only till next visit in which something usually shows up ) She did not do a scope yesterday since I had one in August but told me to come back in 2 weeks and if symptoms persist she may do one then. In the meantime she told me to use the lidocane and double my dose of Konsyl to 2x a day instead of 1x a day, NYC was quite busy yesterday so it took me 2 1/2 hours to get there and 3 to get home for a 15 min visit but she said based on my history it was good I came in, turns out my next visit will be the same day as the seminar on the long term effects of radiation so at least that worked out Trying not to take too much time off from work, but I am only taking off for visits, as for the pain, I suck it up and move on

Well, I am glad that you went in. I do hope that this is inflammation. Sounds like you had a long day! What is Konsyl?0 -

Marynb--Konsyl is a psyllium fiber supplement. My husband used it for awhile at the advice of his doctor.

To All
Yes it was a long day, I worked half a day before the appointment so I was a bit frazzled, so I left out one thing in my last note, after my appt I stopped at St Pats to light several candles, the Cathedral is under construction so after prayer I went to go light the candles, normally I would walk the perimiter of the church but with the construction I just made one stop, somehow I was drawn in the direction of Our Lady Of Guadalupe, for those not familiar with her legagy, Our lady appeared to a local native Juan Diego, it is said she healded his uncle who was near death. It was not until today that I remembered that somewhere tucked away I have a medal of our Lady of Gudalupe from when I was a little girl and my father vactioned in Mexico bringing it back for me as a souvenior. I will now have to dig it out and keep it near, I thought of all the wonderful people on this board and lit a special candle for all of you while I was there

That is so wonderful! I love that cathedral. I am devoted to Our Lady and I wear the Miraculous Medal next to my heart always. I truly believe in miracles. Before my last scan, I splashed Lourdes water on my chest!
I hope your faith gives you strength!
Praying that your battle with all this is won soon. You have been through so much!0 -

While I am not familiar with either the cathedral or Our Lady of Guadalupe, I so appreciate you lighting the candle for all of us. That was a very nice gesture and a real act of kindness. Thank you!

Do let us know how you get on with your next visit / scope. Thinking of you.
Thanks so much, I will keep you posted, my visit is scheduled for next Wed 10/9, I have increased both the Konsyl and the Lidocane but do not have much relief, I am on my feet most of the day at work, sometimes 6 days aweek so I have been pretty useless everyday after dinner I just need to sit down and put my feet up, I am getting a bit frustrated since I can't get my head above water with household chores etc, hoping this will turn around soon

I am so sorry you are still feeling pain. I know it is tough to let some things around the house slide, but you just have to. I hope you feel better very soon. I will be thinking of you on the 9th! Hang in there!0 -
