So glad you posted. I have been thinking about you today. I'm so glad the growth in your lung seems to be stable and you have some time to think about your next steps. I will continue to pray for you.

I'm glad your doctor thinks it's okay to take some time to make this decision and do some research. The good news is that the nodule has not changed much when compared with the previous scan. God will lead you in the right direction and in the meantime, I will be keeping you in my prayers.

I have been on & off this site waiting to hear from you, & am so glad that you feel up tp posting what you have discovered.
So, whether it's cancerous or not, they can remove it if necessary. That seems to be somewhat reassuring, but also that they are ok with waiting until the New Year. Will they re scan at that point?
You are sounding positive in taking control of your life, but I realise this must be a time of tension. Cancer sucks!!!!
You are in my thoughts.

Not the best, not the worst news. I agree for you to take your time and research.
Always wishing you the best.
What about taking a biopsy of that lesion to see what it is before they operate?
Laz
It is a solid mass and in a hard to reach place. There would be no sense doing a biopsy. Once they are in they will remove it and surrounding tissues and take a look around. I will seek other opinions, of course.0 -

I just have to exercise to keep my head above water. I recently discovered I love Bikram Yoga. That's the kind where you are in 105 degree room for 1.5 hours doing weird poses that cause the heart rate to really go up. It's hard at first but it gets easier. The thing I like about it is that it helps clean the entire lymphatic system and it is totally consuming. I can't think anything except "OMG, OMG, OMG! lol.
Keep talking to us. You are the best. Sorry I have been not on the boards for a while. Just dealing with being half deaf and a bit fearful of more illness.
Sincerely,
Sandy

Thanks, Sandy! Gosh, you must be in good shape to do that kind of yoga!I would surely pass out in a 105 degree room! I am impressed. I am going to try to increase the exercise gradually. I have to admit, I sort of gave up on myself for a few months. I think I was frozen with fear. The only way I know how to deal with this is to try to do what I can on my own. It is hard to handle everything alone. I am not going to tell my daughter until January. There is nothing she could do for me right now.0 -

You take on too much by yourself. When you have such a load on your shoulder that is worse than the illness itself. Until I told my problem to the people close to me, I was going crazy with the most unrealistic, distorted thoughts. As soon as I shared it, it got so much easier. You have to speak your problem, it's like giving your thoughts wings, so they fly out of your head and your whole world expends to where it's more acceptable. Yes, your daughter can do a lot by sharing your burden. It's not gonna kill her and she can do a lot by listening and supporting you. Your whole relationship will be more honest. Wouldn't you like to know right away if she had problems? Wouldn't you feel cheated if you heard about them months later when the dealing with it is unavoidable? She is the same way.
In my own experience it be better for both of you.
Stay strong,
Laz

Oh how I wish there was a 'like'button on here. I think Laz could be right about sharing your concerns. These are not day to day concerns, & I do believe now is the time to be kinder, more compassionate with yourself. You have been too strong for too long, & that ain't helpful.
So, think about it. Think about how you would feel if tables were turned. I am quite certain you would not just want, but need to know. You have a strong, maybe the strongest bond. Don't do this alone. We will be here for you of course, but we are not the important ones.

So good to see you here, if only briefly!
I can see where you are coming from. You seem to keep having more & more thrown at you. Just when you adjust to one thing, another happens.
What I have learned about you on the way is that you are resilient & resourceful. You are human & have your wobbly moments, but you always get where you need to be.
I have missed your posts, but so very glad you are getting there.
I echo what Mary says about that heat........that would wipe me out in 5 minutes.........if that lol. You go girl!!!
Hugs
Liz

Glad to hear that the tumor
Glad to hear that the tumor appears to be slow growing / stable. Great idea to use the time to investigate and to physically prepare for surgery. It will make such a difference to your recovery rate.
Can they not biopsy first either by bronchoscopy or surgical route? Have you had a wander over to the lung forum to see if anyone has any experience of this?
Little and often on the excercise front to get you going - that reminds me, I should do some gentle stretching myself. x

Thanks. I am thinking about what you and Liz have said. I don't know yet. It is hard for me to make that shift of not wanting to protect my daughter from all hurt. She went through so much when her father left. This is so not what I wanted for her life.0 -

So glad to hear there was not too much change on your scan, I was thinking of you this weekend (just returned home now) My friend had surgery back in the end June they removed a tumor and part of his lung, he was in the hospital for a week, and home recovering for a few weeks, by August he was going strong and back to work (contracting/physical) as well as playing gigs with his band, Don't get yourself crazy with all the info, keep the faith
