Were you stage 1 when
Were you stage 1 when diagnosed? I apologize, I can't remember everyone's situation. By the lesion site, you mean the kidney that was partially removed? I would think 3cm in 6 months would be too big for a kidney cancer tumor, since they typically grow about 1cm per year. Maybe its just a cyst. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a blood clot. Sometimes you get them after surgery. My mom had two and they had it listed as a recurrence then on the next scan they were smaller and then gone. They said it most probably was a clot. Maybe you could mention it and see what they say. You are good not to panic, it should all be ok. And if they said Cystic that is ok too, masses can be seen and ar usually solid. All my best to you!

Talk to your specialist,
Talk to your specialist, Cran. my lesion turns out to be post operative saroma. I don't think you should be worrying too much at this stage. Besides, like Angec said, the lesion is cystic. RCC should be a solid mass.
Good Luck on Thursday.

Thank you D. It was good news. He looked at the images and could not see what the imaging tech was looking at. He thinks they didnt realize that i have a small portion of the kidney gone. So gonna get an mri in Nov and see him again Nov 29.

Sure shows how much of an art this scan interpretation business is! For that reason alone, we shouldn't worry so terribly about the outcome - even when a scan turns up something seemingly adverse, it may be an incorrect interpretation. That's why our MDT board approach, which you folks also use in your big, prestigious centres, has so much going for it!
Splendid news cran, enabling you to get on with your life and to enjoy these precious times with very young family to the full.
